I will not be able to get to the Greyhound bus as scheduled on my tickets. Can I take a later bus?

My ticket is scheduled to depart at 5:00 PM from New York, NY to Boston, MA. But right now I just learned that I won't make it in time to take the 5:00 PM bus. I know there's a 7:00 PM bus when I was buying the ticket online. I could change the ticket to 7:00 PM but that would require me to pay 15$ fee, including my round trip for subway (4.10$ total). My question is: do you have to pay a fee or get a new ticket if you have to take a later Greyhound bus?

1. As long as you do the same route, you can still get on a later bus. I have done it because tickets are good for a year since they are non-refundable. I don't think they have changed their policy.
