Can I leave on an earlier Greyhound Bus than what's printed on my ticket?

I have an advanced purchased Greyhound bus ticket, however I realized there are some earlier buses scheduled to leave the terminal for my destination. In order to make sure I give myself more time to make a connection, can I take an earlier scheduled route as long as it's the same date printed on the ticket?

1. Technically yes. it helps if its to a major destination with many buses like Chicago to St Louis or Dallas to San Antonio. Technically, having a ticket doesn't even guarantee you a seat on the bus you have a reservation for. So why the hell shouldn't you be able to take any damn bus you want? While most drivers just check for destination, only a few drivers are anal and enforce the date and time.
