Was it right for the jet known as Air Force One to be used to fly George W Bush back to exile in Texas?
Should have got a Greyhound bus instead, or I'm sure he is rich enough to fly down First class or even charter a plane? Should he pay the costs of the flight? BTW I know it is not called Air Force One when the President is not on board but everyone still knows it as that. When British Prime Ministers are kicked out of office, they have a few hours to pack their stuff and clear out, they get a car back to their own home and then left to it. No fuss. LOL, unusual for Bush to get this much support. BTW, how did Chency get home?

- Why not for one last time, I would have been nice if it crashed with him in it killling him
- That's one of the perks of having been president. They fly you back where you came from.
- Yeah. Why? And it was Marine 1. And he will have secret service support the rest of his life. How bout that?
- He was on Marine one i think. Im not joking either.
- Actually, it is tradition, so yes it was fine.
- Yes...if ignorant people are allowed to vote, our former President can fly however he wants.
- We should give him the same as we gave every other President leaving office. I will make the same statement when we discuss President Obama. Stop trying to stir up crap. It's ridiculous. On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics. We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things.
- Dude was a total screw up.. no doubt... but he was still the leader of America for 8 years... no reason to kick him in the butt on the way out.... gotta show more class than that :)
- Every President gets the same treatment. If you do it for him, would you be happy to see Obama get the same treatment when he leaves. I wouldn't.
- He's still a former president, you know. We voted for him, after all. And it was Marine one, lol
- Despite the fact that I hated his policies, etc, he still was our President, and therefroe still entitled to the benefits.
- Get over it. He is now gone and you don't have him as a target anymore. What ever will you do?
- Why shouldnt he get a free ride home? You think spending 150 million on Obama's coronation has cool right?
- since that happens to almost every president, yeah
- Even in celebration and victory, you libs are still bitter. There are 2 identical jets used for Air Force One. Why not pay the outgoing president the courtesy of a final ride home in the jet?
- You know, you get the award for the most idiotic question of the day.
- It was just one flight, a finale so it really doesn't matter
- now your being nit picky.
- Well, the President gets picked up in it when he/she starts the job. It's only fitting to go drop them off back home one last time.
- Who cares? It was a way to get him as far from washington as possible, as fast as possible. He can officially go fark himself.
- I thought they flew him out on Valujet?
- I'm almost positive he wasn't on AF1...but if he was, so be it... he's outta here!
- For one thing hes not in "exile", for another AF 1 was used to fly several former presidents home, including Carter and clinton. Did you object to them or just to president Bush doing it?
- Yes. That was the quickest way to get him out of DC
- That's the way it is, I hope your happy at your wasting of five points. stop hating he's gone.
- Another great example of an intelligent and tolerant Liberal.
- How does this promote Obama's call for healing?
- He was on the helicopter, which is Marine One, but since he was no longer the president it was called that. And every ougoing president for years has used it.
- For once the government spent it's money wisely..............LOL
- 10 BILLION a MONTH in Iraq for YEARS......... like I'm gonna quibble about one plane ride? Hey.......love him or hate him........and I hate him.......he was the president..........thanks for trying.......your parting gift is one last nice ride home. I can live with that. I would have liked to seen him EGGED first, before he boarded.......but hey.........ya can't have everything. I'm just happy he's gone. I'm willing to PAY for that.!
- Sure why not. I think this should be true whether you like him or not.
- What I thought was unfair is the women telling the world each plane they were getting on where they were getting on it and where they were going. He didn't get on Air Force One anyway.
- AAAAHHHHHH you people never quite it was not on airforce 1 and his flight home cost less than it will take to clean up the mess all you libs just made in washington. For someone who wails on and on about pollution you sure left a mess for someone else to clean up ...TYPICAL....
- He didn't ride on Air Force Once to Texas nor did he ride on a jet.
- It wasn't Air Force One. That designation is only carried by whatever aircraft the president is on, whether it's the space shuttle or a Piper Cub. When a former president gets his ride home after he leaves office the plane he flies on is known as "Executive One" for the duration of the flight. If the current president flies on it the next day the plane becomes "Air Force One". BTW. Don't be so damn graceless. I am happy enough to see the man go myself, but talking as you do doesn't make him look bad. You simply look like a churlish little s*it.
- Yeah, whats wrong with that? And either way secret service would be with him and everything so it doesnt really make a difference.. and BTW i am sick of everyone bashing Bush. sure he wasnt the greatest President, but people forget the good things he did. so shut the h-l up and show some respect!
- Our government has done it for EVERY ex-president since there has been an Air Force One. I personally detest George Bush and all he has done to this country and our military but, it makes us the same as him when we apply different rules to him than for other ex-presidents. Castro, your answer was SICK! Let's be glad he is gone and not lower ourselves to the level of the Bush/Cheney crowd. We have a new day now with hope back in the White House, the country and the world! Like my sister said to me a few minutes ago, it's going to be hard living up to the "Messiah" moniker that's been hung on him, so let's all give him our prayers and good thoughts. I want the country I grew up in back for my kids and grand kids to grow up in. And just think how nice it will be to have the respect of the entire world for the U.S.A as the leader of the free world once again!
- Wow! I'm glad our country has enough respect for our leaders to at least get them home! Sure wouldn't want to be kicked out after keeping my country safe for 8 years.
- IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HELL BETTER IF IT CRASHED!!
- He can, but he is still and will be until his death under the watch of the Secret Service. as for ex-presidents I don't know the call for transporting after they have left office.
- is it right for your messiah to get a new limo with the economy the way it is?..........any reason why he can't use the same one Bush used?
