USA Bus Lines

buses from mercer island to downtown seattle?

i moved to mercer island about a month ago from out of state. i just got a job in downtown seattle near the seattle arts measuem and parking seems really expensive. i noticed a big park and ride on the island and checked out the bus websites, but im kind of confused on what bus to take? it looks like both the seattle metro and the sound transit buses pick up at the park and ride and drop off in that area. anyone have any suggestions or pointers on what the better option would be? and are the schedules fairly acurate because from unless im reading the schedule wrong it looks like it takes only about 10 mins for the bus to get downtown from mercer island. that seems really quick? how much traffic time should i factor into riding a bus? sorry for all the questions but back where i used to live i didn't work downtown so i've never really had to deal with commuting into a busy city and am not familiar with riding big city buses.

  1. Why don't you call the two companies and let them provide the information.............
  2. Call and see if there is a Vanpool that you can pool in, If you need more info call or Google the bus schedule and find out. 10 minutes seems really fast, its hard to say how long it takes, it all depends on traffic.
  3. From the Mercer Island P&R, you can take either the 550 to University Street Station / Tunnel Station Bay B (0.1 Miles from SAM) or the 554 which will take you to 4th Ave and Seneca (0.2 Miles from SAM). The fare is $1.25 and the trip is 13 - 15 minutes.
  4. here is what you need to do its super easy google this - metro transit trip planner once your at the king county metro site enter your destination and your starting lpace, the date and time of your trip and it will do it for you.
