Are the places in the NJ Transit bus schedule the only places the bus stops?
I used the Itinerary Planner of the website and it told me to ride the 780 bus and get off at Essex St. and Huyler St. in Hackensack, but I don't see that stop in the schedule for the 780 bus. I don't want to ride the bus and then end up skipping that area, where I have to get off. Also, the trip planner told me to get on the 74 bus on Mill St. and Union Ave., but according to the map, the bus goes there in limited service. What does that mean? Should I go there or should I get on the bus on another location? I have to go with a couple of friends somewhere using the bus tomorrow, and I don't want to get ourselves lost. Last question. How do bus transfers work? Hehe. Thanks for all the help.

- most schedule only list time points even though they could and usually do have a lot more stops on most schedules re limited it probally means that bus (line 74 ) is a limited stop (its not a local) but it will make certain stops apparently that stop is one of the limited stops for that line and nice thing before you get on the bus you can ask the driver do you go to (what ever your destination is) the drivers are human or did you think you couldnt talk with them or did you think the bus was on automatic? the bus opeator is your best source
- I don't know about NJ, but limited service usually means the driver will stop there upon request. So push the "request stop" button as the stop approaches. Transfers work like this. When you get on the first bus, you pay and ask for a transfer. The driver gives you a ticket. Then you show that ticket on the second bus and you don't have to pay.
- Bus schedule does not show all the stop, similar to NY buses. They only list timepoint stops. Only trip planners give bus stop location close to your house. If you don't want to get lost, it's best to go to last stop to Patterson Buis Terminal where you can catch #74 bus. Also New Jersey Transit buses are base on fare zones. You have to paid 65 cent fee transfer upon paying your zone fare. I think limited service means there are limited # of buses running. For example, like #319 Express which operates bet. Cape May & New York has limited # of buses running.
