  1. Yes. You definately do need a passport or at least some sort of government-issued photo ID. You don't want the hassle of going without, trust me.
  2. I would imagine so, because when a passport expires it is essentially useless. Unfortunately the guys at the border are unlikely to let you through without a great deal of hassle because you don't technically have any way of proving who you are. My advice would be to try and get a passport ASAP or cancel your trip. Hope that helps
  3. Just use the route that all the illegals come to get here. Hey, it's a legitimate answer.
  4. There will be a major problem if you plan on returning to the States. Get your ID reissued.
  5. If you are traveling by air, you will need a valid passport. If you are traveling by land, your expired passport will work, along with all your other identification. The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative calls for a valid passport for U.S. citizens entering and leaving the U.S. by air. At the moment, there is no such requirement for U.S. citizens who travel by land or sea. The airlines will refuse to board you if you cannot comply with the WHTI requirements, but driving to Mexico or Canada is a different story.
  6. You will need to get a valid government issued photo ID to get back into the USA. You will also need to take along your birth certificate to prove your citizenship
  7. You need a valid passport to reenter the US
