Bus travel in Mexico from Morelia to Mexicali?
I will be traveling from Morelia to Mexicali and would like to go by bus and actually see the country. Does anyone know of any bus lines that run there? I can't seem to find anything on the internet. It looked like Greyhound might run, but then when I searched itinerary and prices it said no

- You can try camiones del norte I think its called... You don't want to go greyhound in Mexico as the buses they have in Mexico are luxury buses and 100 times better than greyhound.
- Greyhound does not operate in Mexico...great news...because Greyhound is horrid and mexican bus lines are wonderful. The Estrella Blanca line has buses on that route several times a day. Problem is the buses on that route run in the late afternoon and eve so it would be difficult to sight see. The price is 1320 pesos. see site below. if you do not speak spanish, you will probably need a friend who does to help you with the website. I could not find another line that has a schedule for that run, but i am sure there are others. Many times the websites are not up to date. when you get to Morelia, go to the bus station and ask what buses are available that go to Mexicali. Many times the only way to get the current info is to ask at the bus station.
- buy the ticket in mexico as few of them actually have websites. the best line is Are and etn la linea mas comida. they aren't expensive in terms of the dollar. the thrid best is probably is omnibus odm.com.mx is the site. they have a place called a central de camiones. it has all the bus lines and is kind of like an airport but smaller.
- A few companies run between TAM (Morelia's modern bus station) and Guadalajara. The most comfortable would be ETN, but they are also the most expensive. There are frequent buses running the busy route between Guadalajara and Tijuana. Mexicali is on that route. When picking a bus company, TAP is probably your best bet or that route. The ride will take 33 hours. The portion of the ride between Mazatlan and Mexicali will be boring, and that's a large portion, 23 hours. The busing system of Mexico is far superor to that of the US.
