Does the American's with Disabilities Act require fixed-route bus routes to be accessible by a certain date?
Is there a provision in the ADA that requires all mass transit fixed-route buses that operate within a city's geographical limits (i.e. NOT Greyhound or Trailways buses) to be wheelchair-accessible by a certain year? If so, what is the year that all mass transit buses are required to be wheelchair-accessible?

- No, there isn't. There are more general requirements, but nothing specific for that. Many cities provide, along with their public buses, a paratransit system for those in wheelchairs, so you may want to look into that.
- I thought that ADA required that all fixed route buses already be accessible. If there was a certain year, I think it has already passed. I really don't know of a system that has non-accessible buses. The new problem is accessible bus stops and accessible paths of travel to the bus stops. This is often a problem b/c the sidewalks are the responsibility of the local jurisdictions.
