USA Bus Lines

What are some train/bus routes from LA to Anaheim to Sandiego and from San Diego to LA?

I need to go from LA by train or bus down to Anaheim, followed by San Diego, then back up to LA. What are some train routes or bus routes for this? and how much does it cost? and please state any websites you use. Also is it cheaper to go by train from SAN to LA or plane? and how long do these trips take? Please anser as many of these questions as you can. Have a Great Day xxx

  1. There is Amtrak, the Coaster and other trains. The trains are much more pleasant because they follow the coast line most of the way. You can also get up and walk around. They are cheaper than flying. Just search Amtrak and put in the destinations.
  2. The Coaster is the run from Los Angeles to Seattle, it's the Surfliner that hits San Diego. Your best bet is Amtrak as the bus is just as expensive and takes much longer (and not nearly as fun). The train costs about $30 and takes 2.5 hours to go from LA to SD one way. It has several stops along the way, one of which is Anaheim. A plane ticket will be at least double that and with the airport check-in times it takes just as long. The LA to SD run is one of the few train rides that I recommend over flying. Have fun.
  3. Take the Metrolink or Amtrak from Union Station in LA. If you use the Metrolink get off in Oceanside and get on the Coaster to San Diego.. From LA to san diego is about 2.5 hours I think http://gonctd.com (San Diego) http://mta.net (L.A.) The train is far cheaper than flying and about the time factoring in parking and security at LAX PS. The Coaster is not the train that goes from LA. It runs from Oceanside to San Diego. The gonctd.com link I gave you is for the Coaster
