  1. any travel agent in sing. will sell you a ticket, the journey takes about 24 HOURS! better to take the train all the way,at least you get a proper bed!
  2. You can also take a train from Singapore too! Start with the train station in Singapore. The train station is a little walk from the MRT but not that far. The train will go to Kalua Lumpur. First class is more comfortable. There is a snack food canteen on the train. Chicken and rice was okay. Bring a good book. From KL to Butterworth and from there to Thailand, In Thailand a sleeper car is best, reserve early. Hat Yai to Bangkok takes a long time. Not a bad ride. Might be cheaper and faster to take a bus to Thailand and pick up the train in Hat Yai though. In Hat Yai there are several travel agencies that provide buses to Bangkok if you want to spend the night somewhere. http://www.the-inncrowd.com/singtomsia.htm Good luck.
  3. I don't think there is any coach service direct from Singapore to Bangkok. You may buy ticket from travel agencies at Golden Mile Complex, Beach Road to reach Hatyai first. From there you take another coach to Bangkok. If I were you, I would rather take a flight from budget airlines, it will be cheaper and faster, more comfortable. If you go by road as you planned, it may take nearly 48 hours to reach Bangkok. golden MILE
  4. Actually flying budget won't cost much more. try www.tigerairways.com.sg
  5. get the train our it could take up to 36 hours on the bus i got a bus from hanoi to saigon a few years ago it nearly killed me off
  6. Another way is to take a coach to Hatyai. You can get tickets at Golden Mile shopping complex. The bus leave at 6-7pm and arrive there about 8am local time. Book a train ticket from Hatyai to Bangkok. The train leave around 1pm and reach Bangkok about 7-8am if my memory recall.
  7. It's more economical to fly into BKK. Or u tour KL and board a flight from KL over.
