  1. honest speaking not really that good, especially waiting hours very slow, except peak hours during morning and evening time 2-3 mins for MRT, other times can be 5 mins and above and many times very crowded in MRTs, i seldom take MRT as some inconsiderate people inside eating, drinking, refuse to move inside, stand near the door blocking others' exit. Bus services also not too good, waiting time sometimes very slow, and timing not very accurate, if the buses very crowded you have to wait for a long time, and yet they have the cheek to rise the cost of transport, i think many people who see this will agree.
  2. For MRT, YES! The Singapore Train System is one of the world's best train transportation. For Bus, YES and perherps? Different location have different waiting time. But overall, Singapore Transport System is still one of the best in the world. EDIT: However, the waiting time for both Bus and Train can be very long during off-peak hours. Only during Peak-hours where you can hope on a train in every 2 minutes or so. I would personally recommend you to avoid Train or Buses during peak-hours. It get crowded easily.
  3. After visiting so many countries, I still think that Singapore has one of the BEST train service (along with HK). Well, as for the bus service.... it has room for improvement because the waiting time is really unreasonable at times.
  4. At less than S$2.00 for the longest distance and with waiting time of 10-20 mins on average for a bus in particular and with electronic board by satellite to inform the arrival time of buses (only few in the world), what can you ask for more. Yes, there is a top class 'Buses & Routes Diagram Map to show colour lines to destinations round the island state (has not seen it elsewhere). Now the changing of fleet to new buses for wheel- chair citizen and the Long Bus & Double Decker to increase the load for more. Have traveled to half the world and we are not bad, one of the Best in the world.
  5. Perfect. Buses 15minutes top and MRT 6 minutes normal (pesk 3 minutes guaranteed)
  6. MRT services are okay. average waiting time during peak hours 2 -3 mins / off peak 5 mins. wun say the same for bus services. sometime waiting time can be up to 15min then two or three buses of the same services will arrive together. some bus stops have electronic board for eta of the buses, so u can gauge the waiting time. some of the buses have musty smell and lousy seats. There are two public bus services providers. one of the company drivers like to jam brakes.
  7. I would only say our MRT service is OK. Can not compare to Hongkong and Taipei. Why? Hongkong & Taipei are service oriented while Singapore is profit oriented, they always try to maximise the earning margin to please the shareholders and big bonus for the CEO & staff. Bus service is also OK but there are rooms for improvement. I am not thick skin enough to say that our transport services are world class.
  8. nope... there was once i was standing at the front compartment of the bus as it was too crowded at the back, then it did an emergency brake for it failed to charge cross the junction before it turned red light, standing people flew forward and my head hit the windscreen. i told the bus driver off and i was bleeding, he chased me off the bus and drove off.
  9. Truthly speaking, Singapore's bus services are not that good as to compared to Hong Kong and London. But compared to US New York and Washington, D.C., its still some far cry away, although their waiting time is more sucks then Singapore (I had waited a bus for an hour to arrived in Washington D.C. Downtown). To compare to Taipei and Kaohsiung, its still okay and almost the same. Singapore's frequency differs from place to place and is approx 5-15 min per bus during peak hours and 8-25 min per bus for off-peak hours. Sometimes you can wait for a bus for about half an hour and doesn't arrive, only see two or even more buses with the same service number coming towards you. Sometimes, its the opposite, you know what I mean by that? Singapore's MRT are pretty good are inexpensive in an sense as to compared to other first world cities like Hong Kong and Taipei. Frequencies are good, like 3-7 min per train, as on par on Hong Kong and Taipei. For bus, Singapore's service is not as good as MRT if you really want to compare. But since there are many different kind of driver driving the same kind of bus, its really hard to tell. So its mostly depends who is the driver rather than the bus as a whole. I had seen rude drivers in Singapore, HK and Taipei & nice one too ( I had met one rude driver on one bus ride and a good and helpful on another during the same day on the same service number in HK) and I think that its really depends on the driver itself. Do you agree?
  10. singapore is the BEST in the world
