How big is the gas tank on a full size charter bus?

I am doing a project for a class and I have to start my own company. We were wanting to start a tour company in France and use a charter bus as means of our transportation. To be able to figure out the costs for our company it is necessary to find out how much gas we will be consuming. I have tried to look it up on the internet but am having no luck on finding out how big the gas tanks are on a full size charter bus. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  1. It could be 50 to 200 gallons depending on the size of the bus. There also may be two tanks on the bus.
  2. how many seats does the bus have? what make of bus is it? these have a great deal to do with the size of the tank. for a 46 seater air conditioned low floor (wheelchair friendly) 400 to 800 litres is normal. the average fuel consumption for the buses is around 3 litres to the kilometre. you might also want to check out the websites for the bus manufacturers, the main companies used in Australia are Volvo, Scania, Dennings and MAN. I grew up on the interstate charter buses and my mother as well as my fiances family are all bus drivers
  3. Call the French department of motor vehicles and ask them what make and size of charter bus is allowed to be operated in France. Then contact the bus manufacturer and ask them what size gas tanks they use and what kind of mileage the bus gets.
