Luggage Limit On A Charter Bus? IE, GreyHound?

Im only taking one suitcase, but my mom said that it can only weigh 50 LBS. Do you know if this is true, or if there is any weight limits at all? Thanks! But the suitcase is going on the bus, so i wont be putting anything over my head. Or are you just saying that if i cant lift it over my head that its too heavy? This sucks...

  1. There has got to be a limit. 50# may be it. 55 passengers on a bus. Each has a 50# bag underneath and another 10# carry-on. Do the math. That's 3300# of luggage. The bus driver has to keep the total weight of the bus within the legal limits. It is reasonable that they would limit the weight on your luggage. Besides, can you really carry a 100# suitcase?
  2. If you can't lift it don't bring it. As a Former Luggage crew for a tour company, if (We) Couldn't lift it then it didn't make it on the Bus. For the 3 years I worked there we never turned a bag away. However the airport will tell you your sh*t is too heavy and not let it on the plane in a heart beat. I think you should just tak two suit cases. 50 lbs overhead will be tough to manage, plus when it's time to go that might crush you trying to pull it down. If you don't have 2 Cases then Man Up and do what you have to Do. I wouldn't risk it though, get all the way down there and someone says it's too heavy and makes you reschedule. I'd be heated!
