How to change travel schedule on a non-refundable ticket on Greyhound?

I need to change my travel schedule. Unfo'ly I bought a non-refundable ticket. I will need to travel one day later on my 'to' trip and one day earlier on my 'from' trip. Should I purchase another set of tickets and claim a refund on this one? Or can I just go there and tell them I need to travel early? (what if the bus gets full). Please do help. My origin and destination remain the same though. Only dates of travel vary.
