Extend transfer during Greyhound journey?

Hi, I'm taking greyhound from Ottawa to New York next weekend. I noticed under the bus schedule, there is a transfer point at Montreal for 2 hours. I would like to visit Montreal too. Does Greyhound allows passengers to visit Montreal a dayor two and come back the next day to continue the bus journey?

I no longer trust greyhound you dont know if the bus you are waiting will already be full and then it may or may not even stop in your city, or if its full you might have to stand for 3 to 4 hours then they tell oh that bus is full we will have a second section along shortly yet 10 TO 12 HOURS LATER. one *might * come along and then they also lobe to strand you as well good luck..
