Travel question about New York?
About how long would it take to go from a shuttle from the JFK airport to the New York Port Authority Bus station (625 8th Avenue) at about 8 to 10 o'clock AM at Friday, June 30th? Would my schedule work if I arrived at JFK airport at 8:20 and had to go to a Greyhound bus at the New York Port Authority Bus station at 10:15 AM, if I had never been to JFK airport or NY?

- You'd be pushing it realllllllllllllll close. I would look for another time a little later. Getting into Manhattan is hell around that time and is unpredictable. Even still when you are in Manhattan you have to go across town which will be hell. Try the next bus, give yourself another 45 to and hour
- It shouldn't take more than 45minutes to an hour going there with traffic is going to be hell at that time of the day.
- You can do it if you're not encumbered by too much luggage. AirTrain across the airport to Jamaica station, Long Island Railroad two stops to Penn Station (21-minute ride, schedule at http://lirr42.mta.info/index.asp), from there walk about 8 blocks to Port Authority.
- I wouldn't suggest taking any type of cab as this time of the day will be rush hour for sure Airtrain to the Long Island Railroad will get you there faster, but also take into account that the trains will be packed as well so you may want to give yourself as much time as possible to get there Its definately doable
