- The Lawrence bus from the Blue Line runs 24 hours , and on holidays it tends to still run but at a slower path... I know i use to live near by Foster and Damen. about 10 min from Ashland and Lawrence.. Have fun.. A Chicagoan living in Barcelona, Bcn_mimosa
- I would suggest calling the CTA hotline to ask for sure: 1-888-your-cta or check here for bus schedules: http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/bus/bus.html
- If I were you I'd forget about catching a CTA bus at a specific time. Despite all of the schedules they print, they almost NEVER arrive at that exact time. Too may other factors are involved for them to be on a perfect schedule: traffic accidents, the bus driver stopping for people who are running for the bus, bus breakdowns, etc. The CTA bus schedule itself says, "The CTA does not assume responsibility for errors in timetables, nor for inconvenience... resulting from delayed trains or buses due to weather, traffic conditions, etc." If they don't back up their own schedule, that should tell you something. You best bet is to leave in more than enough time to get where you have to go. I generaly give myself an hour (plus change) to get anywhere on the bus. you don't say where you have to go, but if it's far west, at the end of the Lawrence bus line, I'd give myself an hour and a half. It's better to be too early than too late. Besides, the Ashland stop isn't that far from where the westbound Lawrence bus originates. You shouldn't have to wait that long. Below is a link to a map that shows the CTA bus and train lines, including the Lawrence bus. You have to look for it, but it's there.
