Where can I get the NJ Transit 409 Bus in Center City Philadelphia?

I'm trying to figure out the best place to get the NJ Transit 409 Bus in Center City. On the schedule map, it looks like it starts out going west on Vine St, turns down Broad St, goes around City hall then heads down Market St, then it goes up 6th St. I have to take the train into Center City. if I got off at Market East Station (between 10th and 12th St on market), where is the closest bus stop? Would the 409 stop only at the timepoints on the schedule map or are there stops in between along Market St? I don't have that much time between getting off the train and getting the bus to walk around looking for NJ Transit bus signs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. The bus starts out at 6th and Race which isn't that far from Market East. Most of the buses in the city stop at every intersection. So if you're on the south side of Market Street between Broad and 6th Sts, you should be okay. Plus if you're going to Camden, PATCO would be a better bet. If you're going to Trenton, continue on the train to Trenton.
  2. You don't need to go into Philly, just to get to Camden County (south jersey) anymore. The NJ Transit River Line runs from Trenton through Burlington County into Camden County. You can jump on any local bus including the 409 in Camden to various destinations in Camden and Gloucester county, NJ. If this still doesn't answer your question, please feel free to e-mail me with your exact place of departure to where you want to go exactly.
  3. 6th and Market, 8th and Market, 11th and Market...
