Things at work?

Ok at my work we have to call in two hours before our scheduled time so that they can find somone to cover the shift so i did that and i dont have a car and my friends broke down and my work isnt within walking distance so my manager told me to take the bus never have never will im afraid of our ghetto metro and it takes like 3 transfers and a lot of walking and she said oh well you need to get here.so i said ill try she said okay bye.so i couldnt make and later that night my friend is like our manager told me your fired dont tell her i told you and then this other girl who used to work there knew to before me and she told everyone except me about it so i called up there today and asked if she was there her best friend paul answered and was like she dont wanna talk and i hear her saying things in the background and he's like she said your fired dude and i was like i cant talk to her he's like no i have never got wrote up or anything what can i do

  1. If you have never received a written warning with regard to your attendance and there isnt anything more to the story than what you've said here... Its wrongful termination without a doubt. Any employee is reasonably expected to occasionally be unable to come in, unless this has been a steady problem which has been previously addressed by a supervisor and documented accordingly then it isnt grounds for termination. The fact the manager wont talk to you and has spread the news around like a rumor monger is obviously unprofessional. If you work for a chain or corporation then you've got an even better case.
  2. . MOVE ON!! If you were working less than 90 days, you have NO rights. Find a better job.
