- I think you're thinking of the M14-D bus: it goes East on 14th street, and then goes south on Avenue D when it gets to the East Village. It's a regular NYC bus which takes metrocards or coins. Note that there are also M14-A, -B, and C buses as well (which go down the other avenues- A, B, & C- in Alphabet City) so be sure you're on the right one or be prepared to walk a few blocks.
- There are two buses that runs along 14th Street....the M14A and M14D. The M14A goes along Grand Street/Avenue A up to 14th Street and ends in Abingdon Square (Hudson Street near Bleecker). The M14D goes along Avenue D through 14th Street and ends at West 18th Street & 11th Avenue, which is right across the street from the IAC Building (that funky looking building they sometimes use on Maybelline New York commercials). So, you want the M14D.
- It is M14D, not D14. This bus is operated by MTA New York City Transit (on bus, it says, "Bus." Not MTA Bus. It is regular local bus, so it accept MTA MetroCard. It is called M14D because it travels via Avenue C, East 10th St, Avenue D between 14th St and Houston St, and terminates at Delancey St/FDR Drive. M14B does not exist. M14C was discontinued because Avenue D and East 14th St is closed bet. 10th St & Avenue C, so M14D replaces the M14C. Avenue B is used by M9. M14A and M14D has pattern at west side pier, so please check the bus destination before you get onboard.
