What is the best tour bus in Washington DC? Anyone have any suggestions with tour bus company in this city? I'm only going to be in town for one day and want to see all of the big tourist sites. Also, is there any place to park my car that is easily accessible to any of the tour bus starting points? Any other good tips for the city (espeically money-saving ones!)? Any info. is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!
Washington DC - What's the best and most affordable tour bus? I am traveling to Washington DC this weekend with my wife and 3.5 month old son. I've been told that the best way to get around the city is a tour bus where you can get on and off wherever you'd like. I've found many different options online and I'm curious which are the best and most affordable. My top priorities are a spacious bus to fit a stroller, a clean bus and one that will come frequently. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
What is the best way to tour Washington, DC area? I will be traveling to Washington DC via Union station. I need to find out which local train or bus to take once I get to Washington so that I may do some site seeing. Such as the Capital, the White house, the Washington Monument. chinatown bus dc tour? I have seen an advertisement for round trip ticket from chinatown NYC to Washington DC that also includes a 2 day tour with stops in Philadelphia and Baltimore and some sightseeing in DC and one night hotel. Does anyone know if this is a scam, it is also advertised as buy 2 get one free, but when I go to purchase the tickets there is no reference about the third ticket. has anyone done this? is it worth it? or should I buy everything separate, and do independent sightseeing in Washington, DC? if you do the tour does it leave free time to wonder around on your own to places not visited by the tour? like the pentagon, washington monument, etc.also where is the hotel located? far from the city so that independented sightseeing is impossible or somewhere nearby? thank you and also any suggestions as to getting form NYC to washington dc and sightseeing ideas (reasonably priced) are greatly welcome!

What is the best way of arranging a student tour of Washington DC? I am a teacher who is contemplating a seven day trip to Washington, DC etc. in the spring of 2007 for my seventh graders. There might be 2-3 buses. Several companies have contacted me with great offers and personal incentives (stipends. travel benefits, and bonuses) to compensate for the amount of time to set up this trip. Is there anyone who has some good referrals, advice, or suggestions? BR

Travel: I bought a bus tour package and miss the bus.? Hi, I had bought a USD150 bus tour package to Washington DC and miss the bus. The tour mentioned arrived at 7.00am and another note mentioned 30 minutes prior 7.00am. It states no refund if no show. Due to not familiar Boston downtown road, we lost in downtown. We arrive destination around 7.00am but didn't see the bus. I tried to call the travel agent and they say can't do anything, then only solution is either i follow next tour with penalty USD50 or just get nothing. But I will not in Boston that time :( Is there a way i can get a refund? thanks for help Ding

Need info on vacationing in Washington DC...help please? I need info on touring DC. I've been there once about 28 years ago with a school group...but we're thinking about taking our children there (13, 7 & 6) this summer. Everything I read talks about the Metro being easy, safe, etc. But if is practical when you're dragging 3 kids AND you have a knee problem that doesn't allow you to move too quickly? I've been looking into the Tour Mobile buses, where you get on and off at your leisure and thought this might be the way to go. Also, would you recommend staying in DC or perhaps in Arlington or Alexandria and drive into the city to the spots where the bus tours commence? ANY info you can share will be greatly appreicated...

Need some help please about walking around Washington, DC. (I will be a tourist of course)? First let me say this has been a dream of mine I never thought possible. To go to Washington, DC. We, my children and I, are very excited. Here come my questions. I was talking to my sister in-law yesterday and she told us we wouldn't be able to drive into Washington,DC and park to be able to walk around. She said we would HAVE to take a guided tour by bus or by foot and park outside the city and take a bus there. Is this true? I was laid off and really can't afford to do any kind of $ tours. We are trying to do this as cheap as possible. (even taking our camp grill/stove for cooking at a park) We will only be there for 1 day and want to see as much as we can handle. Monuments, Lib. of Congress, Capitol, White house and etc. Will be able to park somewhere and walk or do we have to take a bus in? I couldn't find it on the DC website. And if you know a printable map for the attractions, I would appreciate that as well. I found a few but some of the things we want to see are not marked on there. Or once I get there, where I could find a map. i know I'm asking a lot but I am so excited and don't want to be disappointed once I get there that we can't get in to walk on our own. Thank you, Heather and sons North Carolina
How do I find a name before my visit to Washington DC on the WWII Memorial? I am going to Washington DC later this spring. We only have one short day in the city and plan on doing one of the overview tour buses (trust me I wish I could stay longer!!!). We will stop at the WWII Memorial. I have a grandfather and a great uncle whose name is on the wall. I found the registry online, and looked up their names. Is there any way online I can look up the exact location on the monument where the names are? That will make it easier for our short trip and I don't want to spend all day trying to find the names and miss out on the chance. Any help is appreciated!

We are taking a 2 day trip to Washington DC with 2 kids what is the best way to get around? We are deciding between buying a Metro Pass or going on one of those double decker sightseeing tours. We don't mind walking either. We figure we would have more time to look at things with the metro because the buses run only until 5pm. We also would like to know if we should take the stroller and if we can bring it on the metro? We are not familiar with the area and would like to see and do the most we can fit into the 2 day trip. Can anyone interpret weird dreams? XD? Well, I thought this was weird, so I was just wondering if it could be interpreted. So, I'm in Disney world (wtf.) and my tooth broke in half, I had run to Washington DC, and got onto the tour bus. I then ran to my dads new girlfriend, (parents split up a few months ago) and told her I had to go to the dentist. She took me there and then the weird dentist guy gave me the stuff to put me to sleep in some form of gas and I never fell asleep. I went home and went to bed, the woke up with the feathers in my hair. I then woke up for real.
Would this be possible? Okay, so my grandma was talking about how she wants my cousin, whose coming here from poland and me and her to go on a trip to Nyc, washington dc and niagara on those tour buses together with the tourist guide and everything. but I really want to go with just my cousin. I'll be 15 in september and shes going to be 15 in december. Would we be able to go without an adult, just us? My mom already said she would let us go, so would we be able to go with her permission? I already have been on the same exact trip last september, with my mom so I would know where we're at and everything. its 3 days. I live in Chicago btw. well they're already having the hotel rooms ready for us. thisss sucks uh. i would probably get in trouble though so maybe its a good thing we cant go alone.
Is $1000 worth going to DC Presidential Inauguration? I am a high-school senior who is broke and will have future fees to pay (SAT, club fees, prom, application fees,etc...) BUT my favorite teacher has announced a trip to the Inauguration in Washington DC in January for I believe 2 nights and 2 days. I think we will also have the opportunity to tour some of the stuff at DC and be part of an inauguration ball. Do you believe it is worth going to this and wasting almost if not all of my savings to go to this trip? The bus ride is 10 hours ($550) I have to bring my own spending money and have to buy a dress for the ball (another 500+). The teacher said the airplane/flight alternative would be much more expensive....supposedly this is the cheapest package she could get.
How did this happen in this country? Congressmen and presidents get their full salary for life after one term and full taxpayer funded health care. They take month-long vacations. Congressmen vote for their own raises. If they want to start a business, ex-Presidents get taxpayer money for it. Ex-presidents get secret services protection for life even though they're not part of the line of succession. Corporations donate to political campaigns and have more access to and influence over congressmen than any ordinary constituents. Law enforcement officers get scolded or fired for investigating or even questioning federal elected officials. Federal officials generally get away with more crimes easier than an ordinary citizen. Presidents and Congressmen are employed by the most people in the country, yet cannot be fired outright for things that any other person would be, like lying, bribery, poor job performance, tardiness, or budget constraints. When their are budget problems congressmen will shutdown public facilities and services before taking a pay cut. Is it just me, or should: congressmen and presidents be paid $20 for a job that brings them so many privileges, they have to shop and pay for their health care, find their own transportation to work, be forbidden from taking campaign contributions from influential people/organizations, be monitored closely for any conflict of interest, and be able to be easily fired by the people they're supposed to represent" Governors can appoint someone to serve out a dead senator's term, why not let them fire senators for misconduct, suspicion of lying, or crimes. Our leaders and representatives should fear and fear being fired. Government and school systems seem to be the only place where the majority group of people (who are responsible for the existence of the minority group's jobs) is told what to do by the minority group. Corporate and industrial lobbyists should be outlawed. Congressmen should spend have to spend 26 weeks a year working in DC and 26 weeks conversing with their constituents. While in Washington D.C., congressmen should live in dormitories and work 8-5 with 1 hour for lunch. While in their home state or district they should travel that area in tour bus, talking with the people that pay their salary for at least 8 hours a day. If constituents don't think their representative is doing a good job, they should have the chance to vote to fire them every months. Congressmen like to think that their votes count. Well, if more than 50% of the votes say they're fired, they're fired. If at least 2/3 say they're fired, they're fired and get don't get any severance package. We'd save so much money and have a government that works more efficiently.
Did you know Obama gets police escorted? I went to Washington, DC on Thursday (July 21) and I was walking the streets. I heard sirens and saw a lot of police cars/vans. They went past us and I looked in one car just to see what was going on (I thought someone was getting chased). It was a guy in a suit (everyone is in suits down there so I thought nothing of it). My friend's dad looked back and said it was Obama because they had flags on the car. We were at a street corner waiting to cross the street, when we hear the sirens again. He went right past us and we got a good look at him. A stranger yelled, "It's Obama!" I was so close to him!! How often does he get police escorted? If he doesn't want to get noticed by the public, then why does he have sirens and flags for the public to recognize him? It's not just Obama that does this. It is celebrities that go on tour with a big picture of them on their tour bus, but they hate when paparazzi follows them. I don't understand this. Why?

Travel suggestions for an American tour? A friend and I are on our way home to Australia and New Zealand. We are heading from London to New York in mid December. From there we have a month before we catch flights onwards to Australia and New Zealand. We were thinking New York to Washington DC, Chicago, Miami and onto Las Vegas then LA. If anyone has any suggestions on the way for us to do it and what we should check out , id really appreciate it!. Our budget is limited and we are probably looking at a mix of car rentals, flights and buses/trains. Many thanks G Theres just too many awesome places in America to check out in only one month and its so huge!. We only have a month.. from December 14 to January 14... that will make it winter!. Maybe we will fly to Miami and then take the southern route via Houston to LA? What should we check out in all these places!?. We both like bars, clubs, girls, scenery, monuments etc. I defiantly want to see the grand canyon.
east coast travel itinerary? Hi guys, I am planning an east coast trip and having serious problems in finalising my itinerary (we basically have 5 different versions already). here's the details: we have 15 days to travel and plan to visit these places: 1) NYC (est 5D4N) 2) Niagara Falls (est 2D1N) 3) Woodbury Common (est 2D1N) 4) Jersey Gardens (est 1D1N) 5) Boston (est 2D1N) 6) Washington DC (1D) 7) Philly (1D) 8) Montreal & Quebec City (feel like gng, but can ship if no time) anyone can help me out on this itinerary? Our original intention was to take coach/buses around to reach each city and plan free & easy routes so we have more flexibility (for shopping) and can spend more time at places we enjoy. however, it seems difficult to plan transport in between train/bus stations and hotels so we considered tour packages as well. The tour packages are very economical and save our time in logistics planning. However, we are afraid that the itineraries will be too rush and we don't get to enjoy the attractions. can anyone recommend which is better? F&E or package or a mix of both?
Is this not a true and well timed story? With the showing of "Flags of Our Fathers", I think this is an interesting and enlightening story Tale of Six Boys Each year I am hired to go to Washington, DC, with the eighth grade class from Clinton, WI. where I grew up, to videotape their trip. I greatly enjoy visiting our nation's capitol, and each year I take some special memories back with me. This fall's trip was especially memorable. On the last night of our trip, we stopped at the Iwo Jima memorial. This memorial is the largest bronze statue in the world and depicts one of the most famous photographs in history -- that of the six brave soldiers raising the American Flag at the top of a rocky hill on the island of Iwo Jima, Japan, during WW II. Over one hundred students and chaperones piled off the buses and headed towards the memorial. I noticed a solitary figure at the base of the statue, and as I got closer he asked, "Where are you guys from?" I told him that we were from Wisconsin. "Hey, I'm a cheese head, too! Come gather around, Cheese heads, and I will tell you a story." (James Bradley just happened to be in Washington, DC, to speak at the memorial the following day. He was there that night to say good night to his dad, who has since passed away. He was just about to leave when he saw the buses pull up. I videotaped him as he spoke to us, and received his permission to share what he said from my videotape. It is one thing to tour the incredible monuments filled with history in Washington, D.C., but it is quite another to get the kind of insight we received that night.) When all had gathered around, he reverently began to speak. (Here are his words that night.) "My name is James Bradley and I'm from Antigo, Wisconsin. My dad is on that statue, and I just wrote a book called "Flags of Our Fathers" which is #5 on the New York Times Best Seller list right now. It is the story of the six boys you see behind me. "Six boys raised the flag. The first guy putting the pole in the ground is Harlon Block. Harlon was an all-state football player. He enlisted in the Marine Corps with all the senior members of his football team. They were off to play another type of game. A game called "War." But it didn't turn out to be a game. Harlon, at the age of 21, died with his intestines in his hands. I don't say that to gross you out, I say that because there are people who stand in front of this statue and talk about the glory of war. You guys need to know that most of the boys in Iwo Jima were 17, 18, and 19 years old. (He pointed to the statue) "You see this next guy? That's Rene Gagnon from New Hampshire. If you took Rene's helmet off at the moment this photo was taken and looked in the webbing of that helmet, you would find a photograph... a photograph of his girlfriend. Rene put that in there for protection because he was scared. He was 18 years old. Boys won the battle of Iwo Jima Boys. Not old men. "The next guy here, the third guy in this tableau, was Sergeant Mike Strank. Mike is my hero. He was the hero of all these guys. They called him the "old man" because he was so old. He was already 24. When Mike would motivate his boys in training camp, he didn't say, 'Let's go kill some Japanese' or 'Let's die for our country.' He knew he was talking to little boys. Instead he would say, 'You do what I say, and I'll get you home to your mothers.' "The last guy on this side of the statue is Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian from Arizona. Ira Hayes walked off Iwo Jima He went into the White House with my dad. President Truman told him, 'You're a hero' He told reporters, 'How can I feel like a hero when 250 of my buddies hit the island with me and only 27 of us walked off alive?' So you take your class at school, 250 of you spending a year together having fun, doing everything together. Then all 250 of you hit the beach, but only 27 of your classmates walk off alive. That was Ira Hayes. He had images of horror in his mind. Ira Hayes died dead drunk, face down at the age of 32 .. ten years after this picture was taken. "The next guy, going around the statue, is Franklin Sousley from Hilltop, Kentucky A fun-lovin' hillbilly boy. His best friend, who is now 70, told me, 'Yeah, you know, we took two cows up on the porch of the Hilltop General Store. Then we strung wire across the stairs so the cows couldn't get down. Then we fed them Epsom salts. Those cows crapped all night. Yes, he was a fun-lovin' hillbilly boy. Franklin died on Iwo Jima at the age of 19. When the telegram came to tell his mother that he was dead, it went to the Hilltop General Store. A barefoot boy ran that telegram up to his mother's farm. The neighbors could hear her scream all night and into the morning. The neighbors lived a quarter of a mile away. "The next guy, as we continue to go around the statue, is my dad, John Bradley from Antigo, Wisconsin, where I was raised. My dad lived until 1994, but he would never give interviews. When Walter Cronkite's producers, or the New York Times would call, we were trained as little kids to say 'No, I'm sorry, sir, my dad's not here. He is in Canada fishing. No, there is no phone there, sir. No, we don't know when he is coming back. My dad never fished or even went to Canada. Usually, he was sitting there right at the table eating his Campbell's soup. But we had to tell the press that he was out fishing. He didn't want to talk to the press. "You see, my dad didn't see himself as a hero. Everyone thinks these guys are heroes, 'cause they are in a photo and on a monument. My dad knew better. He was a medic. John Bradley from Wisconsin was a caregiver. In Iwo Jima he probably held over 200 boys as they died. And when boys died in Iwo Jima, they writhed and screamed in pain. "When I was a little boy, my third grade teacher told me that my dad was a hero. When I went home and told my dad that, he looked at me and said, 'I want you always to remember that the heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who did not come back. Did NOT come back.'" "So that's the story about six nice young boys. Three died on Iwo Jima, and three came back as national heroes. Overall, 7,000 boys died on Iwo Jima in the worst battle in the history of the Marine Corps. My voice is giving out, so I will end here. Thank you for your time." Suddenly, the monument wasn't just a big old piece of metal with a flag sticking out of the top. It came to life before our eyes with the heartfelt words of a son who did indeed have a father who was a hero. Maybe not a hero for the reasons most people would believe, but a hero nonetheless. We need to remember that God created this vast and glorious world for us to live in, freely, but also at great sacrifice. Let us never forget from the Revolutionary War to the current War on Terrorism and all the wars in-between that sacrifice was made for our freedom. Remember to pray praises for this great country of ours and also pray for those still in murderous unrest around the world. STOP and thank God for being alive and being free at someone else's sacrifice. REMINDER: Everyday that you can wake up free is a blessing. .

Why me - "know that infrastructure, education , and maintaining a free and peaceful society are NOT socialist programs just because the Gov. pays for them" First of all personal attacks are not needed nor warranted here, secondly if these things are NOT a part of socialism, then why are people saying that the health care reform bill is socialism?

Why make war, why not settle our differences peacefully? A Tale of Six Boys Each year I am hired to go to Washington, DC, with the eighth grade class from Clinton, WI. where I grew up, to videotape their trip. As over one hundred students and chaperones piled off the buses and headed towards the memorial. I noticed a solitary figure at the base of the statue, and as I got closer he asked, "Where are you guys from?" I told him that we were from Wisconsin "Hey, I'm a cheese head, too! Come gather around, Cheese heads, and I will tell you a story." (James Bradley just happened to be in Washington, DC, to speak at the memorial the following day. He was there that night to say good night to his dad, who has since passed away He was just about to leave when he saw the buses pull up and I videotaped him as he spoke to us. I received his permission to share what he said from my videotape. It is one thing to tour the incredible monuments filled with history in Washington, D.C, but it is quite another to get the kind of insight we received that night.) When all had gathered around, he reverently began to speak. "Six boys raised that flag; the first guy putting the pole in the ground is Harlon Block. Harlon was an all-state football player. He enlisted in the Marine Corps with all the senior members of his football team. They were off to play another type of game, a game called "War", but it didn't turn out to be a game. Boys won the battle of Iwo Jima. Boys. Not old men. "The next guy here, the third guy in this tableau, was Sergeant Mike Strank. Mike is my hero. He was the hero of all these guys. They called him the "old man" because he was so old. He was already 24. When Mike would motivate his boys in training camp, he didn't say, "Let's go kill some Japanese or Let's die for our country." He knew he was talking to little boys. Instead he would say, you do what I say, and I'll get you home to your mothers.' "The last guy on this side of the statue is Ira Hayes, a Pima Indian from Arizona. Ira Hayes walked off Iwo Jima. He went into the White House with my dad. President Truman told him, "You're a hero.'" He told reporters, "How can I feel like a hero when 250 of my buddies hit the island with me and only 27 of us walked off alive?" So you take your class at school, 250 of you spending a year together having fun, doing everything together. Then all 250 of you hit the beach, but only 27 of your classmates walk off alive. That was Ira Hayes. He had images of horror in his mind. Ira Hayes died dead drunk, face down at the age of 32, ten years after this picture was taken. "The next guy, going around the statue, is Franklin Sousley from Hilltop, Kentucky, a fun lovin' hillbilly boy. His best friend, who is now 70, told me, "Yeah, you know, we took two cows up on the porch of the Hilltop General Store. Then we strung wire across the stairs so the cows couldn't get down. Then we fed them Epsom salts. Those cows crapped all night." Yes, he was a fun lovin' hillbilly boy. The next guy, as we continue to go around the statue, is my dad, John Bradley, from Antigo, Wisconsin, where I was raised. My dad lived until 1994, but he would never give interviews. When Walter Cronkite's producers, or the New York Times would call, we were trained as little kids to say, "No, I'm sorry, sir, my dad's not here. He is in Canada fishing. No, there is no phone there, sir. No, we don't know when he is coming back." My dad never fished or even went to Canada. Usually, he was sitting there right at the table eating his Campbell's soup. But we had to tell the press that he was out fishing. He didn't want to talk to the press. You see, my dad didn't see himself as a hero. Everyone thinks these guys are heroes, cause they are in a photo and on a monument. My dad knew better. He was a medic. John Bradley from Wisconsin was a caregiver. In Iwo Jima he probably held over 200 boys as they died. And when boys died in Iwo Jima, they writhed and screamed in pain When I was a little boy, my third grade teacher told me that my dad was a hero. When I went home and told my dad that, he looked at me and said, I want you always to remember that the heroes of Iwo Jima are the guys who did not come back So that's the story about six nice young boys. Let us never forget from the Revolutionary War to the current War on Terrorism and all the wars in between that sacrifice was made for our freedom. Remember to pray praises for this great country of ours and also pray for those still in murderous unrest around the world. STOP and thank God for being alive and being free at someone else's sacrifice. God Bless You and God Bless America. REMINDER: Everyday that you can wake up free, it's going to be a great day. Great story - worth your time Please pass it along
How can i keep this friendship i have with a beautiful girl i know? When i went on this school trip to Washington dc i had met someone from another school (same state as me but about 2-3 hours away form me) and she sparked something inside of me that i had never felt before to anyone. We had talked about ourselves on the bus and even took one of the tours together. The sad thing is now after the trip we had to separate and go back to our different schools. We both had a Myspace so we used them to keep in contact. But i have this feeling that our friendship is starting to clear away. I have not told her how i completely feel about her and i am afraid to because i think it will make it worse. What should i do about this? I don't want to lose her :(

Pedophiles? Pedophilia? Have a tale you wanna tell? While in DC, we took the bus. It was really really cramped, so i had to squeeze in the back next to a bunch of strangers. My parents were way up ahead. We had just visited the White House for a tour (i was wearing fancy clothing and a poofy skirt) and an old man was staring directly at me. Whenever people swayed from the motion of the subway, he would adjust himself so that he could stare at me. It was really freaking me out. I didn't do anything really, just squirmed until we left the subway. I really think he was a pedophile. He had a semi smirk semi grin and an eyebrow was raised. I'm never going to washington ever again (or at least never riding a subway ever again) Have YOU ever encountered a pedo? About my clothing, it was a pleated skirt that was only an inch above my knee and an oxford shirt tucked in. I don't think it was hookerish :\
BR
kamal karna roy, a new vision in democracy of equities: why ? My Presidential Endorsement: Feb 8th 2008 5:22PM They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. So why is it the American people allow our politicians to do the same things over and over and we believe them and expect results different from previous elections ? I've looked at the websites of current and previous candidates to get an understanding of their platforms. They all have positions, some of which I agree with , some of which I don't. But there is one thing that is missing from each and everyone of them, any manner of implementation. Health care, spending cuts, retaining or repealing tax cuts, keeping or removing troops, the soundbites with pretty numbers never end. Not a single candidate provides details on how exactly they are going to accomplish anything. Don't they realize that economists exists to make lottery ticket buyers look smart, not presidential candidates ? It reminds me of business plans I get from kids who tell me about their vision and project all kinds of numbers leading to grand results. They can site historical facts and figures, but when it comes time to get into details of exactly how they are going to execute on their plans, the response is basically that they will figure it out as they go. I wouldn't invest in a business that is winging it any more than I want to vote for a presidential candidate that is winging it. Unfortunately , they are all winging it. i have no question that they have every detail about how to spend their campaign contributions on advertising planned out. I have yet to see details on how they plan to accomplish all their great promises they are making to voters. That scares me. It also scares me that despite claims of not being an "insider" or wanting a different vision for America, every remaining candidate spends more energy campaigning to their party than to the issues. I got sick watching Clinton and Barack argue about who was less of a "Reaganite" during one of their few lively debate exchanges. I actually started to get a little bit excited about McCain. Then he went on the warpath to "mend his riff" with the Republican Party. I can only speak for myself, but the fact that he had a "riff" with the Republicans is exactly why i started to get excited about him. No, he hadn't presented any more details on his plans than any other candidate, but there was a glimmer of hope that he was a candidate that thought for himself. (And before all the comments start, Ron Paul is the worse of all the candidates when it comes to detailing how he would execute on his promises. Just saying you are going to cut and eliminate everything doesn't mean you know how to do it and/or could get it done.) So here we are, our country has the same problem we have every four years, our remaining candidates are politicians. They know how to spend other people's money. They know how to assign responsibility to someone else. They know how to beg for other people's money. They know how to campaign, schmooze and kiss babies. They have no earthly idea how to accomplish any of their promises. So here is my hope. My hope is that the entire primary process is just the preseason. That its nothing more than an expensive introduction to the Republican and Democratic candidates and once they have picked their winner, a wealthy individual will nominate them self to compete with the 2 parties and run for President. Are you listening Mayor Bloomberg ? For less than the cost of opening a tent pole movie, you can change the status quo . I'm not saying that I'm going to vote for you yet. As I said above, the devil is in the details. But, I'm betting that unlike the current choices, you recognize the difference between politics and results. I've signed the petition to draft him, which is purely symbolic. Perhaps someone in your position can explain to him just how many people are out here hoping he'll run. This is NOT my first election and I'm no longer interested in voting for the lesser of all the evils. Thanks. Posted at 12:34PM on Feb 12th 2008 by Steve Sparks 82. Maybe you should have Ron Paul on HDNet so he could detail how he would do what he wants to do. Posted at 1:08PM on Feb 12th 2008 by penxv 83. Ron Paul is the best of all the candidates when it comes to how to get the government out of our way so we can be a more productive and free country. Does not your success story include initial failures where the "how" was not understood or executed correctly? Having the right "what" will cover the "how" mistakes much better than the opposite. Posted at 4:33PM on Feb 12th 2008 by Ken Bacon 84. Interesting thoughts on our country's political process. Until changed, this is how it works here. If things worked right, you would pick a wildly rich business person, the next guy would pick the Pope and still another would pick a skin-head. What say everyone's name go into a hat and a drunk monkey pick it? Odds are it would turn out to be an average working stiff trying to get ahead while the taxes on his efforts pile up by the boatload - someone who might appreciate how much it costs to fly Air Force One.
