I'm looking for a great bus tour company that goes to Florida/Canada/Virginia/ departing from NYC. Any ideas? I once took a vacation bus tour from NYC to Orlando about eight years ago. It lasted 7 days--2 traveling to Florida, 3 in FL, and 2 traveling back to NYC. We picked people up and dropped people off from New Jersey also. I'm looking for a dependable bus tour company that goes to places around the East Coast and Canada. I've heard too many horror stories about companies with bad business practices, and I would rather avoid a questionable bus tour company.

Which girl authority girls died in the tour bus accident to NYC? I went onto Wikipedia to check out what girl authority was doing now and when I looked on the side bar, it said "from 2005-2007 (three girls where killed in a tour bus accident to NYC)". I felt horrible for the fans and wanted to know who died in the crash. I looked everywhere but there was no evidence. Was there acctualy a tour bus crash and three girls died?

How can I get a NYC bus tour? My friends have taken tours from West Virginia to NYC round trip for like $70. It's like a charter bus, and it's like if you aren't there when the bus is ready to leave, you will have to buy an individual bus ticket. It's not like greyhound or anything. Does anyone know of a website where I can check this sort of thing out? P.S. I don't want a bus tour once I get in NYC. Just a bus to take me to the hotel, and pick me up in a few days and take me hundreds of miles home. Bolt bus doesn't depart from where I am. :( Bolt bus doesn't depart from where I am. :(
What is the best sightseeing bus tour in NYC? My mom and I are visiting NYC this week, and just have a day and a half, so we want to see the most we can. Its my wifes birthday coming up and she want to go on a bus tour of NYC - despite the fact that we live 45 minutes away and I was born there, she still wants to see all the cool stuff that happened in Manhattan - which honestly, I guess I wouldnt mind, we went on one in London and it was the best day we had there... I am looking online and cant find a simple Double Decker or something that just spends say the afternoon around Manhattan, we dont want to get out, just ride, any suggestions?
Which is the best NYC Night Bus Tour? Daughter (15) and I will be in NYC the end of July, and she wants to take a night bus tour. Is there another you would recommend?

NYC Bus Tours: Gray Line vs. CitySights? Going to NYC in a couple weeks and looking for a good combo bus tour (hop-on/hop-off, cruise included, etc.) and see that both Gray Line and CitySights are available. Being winter, not sure which one has the warmest buses since the companies are both a bit vague as to this. I am looking just for a basic tour, don't need anything fancy with option to get off at various stops. Anybody use either of these and have a suggestion? Thanks!
NYC Tour companies help request! :)? I have never been to NYC before and need a little guidance! :) Anyone familiar with NYC bus tours? I found one that is a 72hr long pass that costs $91pp and admission to 3 popular attractions. Is this a good deal? http://www.newyorksightseeing.com/page.php?id=116 Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
NYC bus tours or subway? Coming to NYC for the first time in Feb, wanting to see as much as the city as possible. whats best to do? Is it the subway and hop on with a daily travelcard the best option to see the city. Or is the bus tours the best option. Would be interested to hear visiters to NYC about what they did and what they found to be best?
"Fun Bus" tour from Columbus to NYC? I'm taking a red eye trip to NYC via the Fun Bus. The trip is for one day only. I was wondering what the best way would be to see all of the major sites in 12 hours? Are the subways or the on/off decker buses the best routes? I do not have a lot of money to bring with me.
NYC 5-6 hrs bus/van tour? Do u recommend some bus tour of 5-7 hrs duration which can cover top 6-7 tourist places? which tour?how much?

Are there any companies that do inclusive tours of NYC? I want to find a tour where I can go to a broadway show, the Christmas Spectacular and maybe even a bus tour of the city. I know there is one that leaves from PA and buses into NYC providing all of these things plus hotel but I just want to fly into NYC. Does anyone know of something like this or a way I can package things to make them cheaper?
I'm a female..12 hr bus trip to NYC alone..safe? I would love to go to NYC someday. I am from a very small town and none of my friends or family have any interest in going. The only way I will ever be able to get to NYC is through these tour bus trips they offer in the next state over which would be somewhat close for me to drive to and hop on the bus from there. It will be about 12 hours on a bus, I will be by myself. I am 25 and look very young and I am very small too. I am not really afraid to go alone, but people keep telling me I should not go by myself bc NYC is too dangerous and so are bus trips. The bus lets you off near Times Square. Just wondering if you people out there could give me some feedback on this? It is a tour bus group that lets us off at the Mariott in Times Square
Is it worth taking the NYC double decker Grey Line tour in February? Will it prob. be too cold to sit up top? I've never been to New York City before. I heard from somewhere it's worth it taking the double decker bus tour once all around the city. I'm from somewhere warm and I hear the only way to really see anything much is to sit on the upper level. I'm wondering: if I will freeze, is it better to go or to skip this tour anyway for some other reason, is there a better alternative to this tour that you would suggest or should I stick with this? I really want to get a good idea of and to see the city and I'm only visiting for 3 days.
Best tour bus in New York City? I'll be in NYC for two days to practice my photography. I was thinking of using taxis, but it was pointed out to me that taxis all day long could get pretty expensive. So I am thinking about using a tour bus company. Are there any ones better than the others? I am looking at Gray Line, they seem to go to a lot of fun places. Any opinions on which company to go with? Also, how does it work? Do you get a day-pass or something?
How do hop-on hop-off bus tours work? I'm considering doing Grayline's most popular 48-hour tour of NYC. I don't understand how this works, though. Does the bus stop at every attraction and wait there for an hour for the people to come back? If not, and someone gets off at an attraction, would they miss the next one? I'm sorry if I'm being vague, I'm just new to this and very confused. Thank you so much for the help :)
Bus tours from New York to Washington & Niagara Falls? I am looking for recommendations from anyone who has experience of bus tours from NYC to Washington DC or Niagara Falls. I have found a couple of on line companies: Tours4Fun and Omei that offer suitable trips; but prices seem almost too good to be true (eg 135USD for tour of Niagara and three nights in Canada?) Thanks for your help, James
Not For Tourists Guide around NYC? Hi So my parents are coming to visit me in Brooklyn for about 3 weeks in June from Europe. I want to figure out several interesting, relatively short routes or things for them to do no just in New York City but within the near New England area as well. However I really want to skip the regular tourist attractions and show them more less known things about the US. No statues of Liberty, NYC Bus Tours, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!!!
where can i find a bus tour from ontario to new york city for shopping??? we are looking for a shopping tour that departs from Hamilton, Niagara Falls or Buffalo to NYC for at least 4 days and 3 nights. Ontario to NYC when someone refers to a bus tour, they mean a guided tour that provides accomidation and a tour guide. If I wanted to know about the bus station I would have asked specifically for that. I used to work at Duty Free (Queenston Lewiston) so I know for a fact that there are tours, I just cannot think of the names of the bus lines.
I want to visit downtown NYC , which airport should i choose? i want to visit statue of liberty and downtown and possibly times square.. i have been to NYC once and onyl midtown i went to .. can you suggest which airport JFK, newark or laguardia.. should i get down if i want to take an open bus tour of NYC and also which one will have a shorter and cheaper route to the liberty island? can i get a ferry from newark to liberty island???
Are there any tour groups for senior citizens that go to the Smithsonian? Specifically I would like to go on a tour bus or Amtrack. I think going with a group of seniors would be cheaper than going alone and having to get accommodations. I would be interested in charters and such. I notice groups are often being advertised to go to the casinos and I was just wondering if there are any that go to the Smithsonian or to NYC's Museum of Natural History, and etc?
Should I take a tour of NYC? I have two children, 14 and 10, who get bored easily. Should I take a tour on a bus, etc., or should we get a cab? Any sites we MUST see? We'll be there for 3 days (In July), any advice welcome. Thanks.

Where would be a good inexpensive area to stay for a family trip to NYC? This will be our first family trip to NYC. We want to do tourist stuff like tour buses, statue of liberty, time square etc. Really don't want to pay a lot for lodging but do not want to stay in a roach motel either (lol)! People say to stay in New Jersey. Not sure where or what's best. Thanks in advance for all your suggestions!

Are the bed bugs really that out of control in NYC? I am suppose to be going to NYC at the end of November - When I booked this trip the bed bugs weren't talked about - Now that my trip is getting closer I keep hearing from the media that the bugs are getting worse & worse! Should I cancel my trip? I am suppose to be staying at the Hilton on Ave of the Americas - Going to see the Radio City Christmas Show - Going on a holiday tour of lights bus tour - & to the Empire State Building. Are any of those places safe to be at?
How much spending money should we bring to NYC? We're both 18, from New Jersey, going to Times Square/Theater District to go see things like the xmas tree, etc. We aren't sure what we're going to do.....dinner is taken care of, and so are the train tickets. We might randomly hit up the wax museum or go on a tour bus. How much money is safe to not run out? Day trip actually. :) Thanks, I'm gonna bring a little more than needed probably, better to play it safe, you never know. Maybe 300 or so.
The statue on the roof top of some nyc buildings.? I was just visiting in nyc. I was on a tour bus when they showed us a statue of a man standing on a few roof tops. It said that he was going to commit suicide. i was just wondering the history and the name of him.
what are the best tours to do in NYC? Myself and 2 friends are taking a bus to New York saturday. They are dropping us off in Manhattan for 12 hours. We were thinking of taking a "hop on hop off bus tour" any input? What else would give us a tatse of the city? without breaking the bank?
Best bus company to NYC from DC or Baltimore? I've already used GoToBus.com and the rates are reasonable, but the bus we got had no televisions and no frills. Also, my fiance is 6'1'', and his legs were literally hiked up for most of the trip. I'm going with him and another couple in April or May, and I want to take a bus again, but I want a better (charter-type) with leg room and frills, like meals, tours, etc. Any suggestions? I used Vamoose last time and that was who GoToBus sent me through. Not impressed. The bus got us from point A to point B, but I want something that gives a few frills-- if we are going to be on a bus for three hours I want frills:)
Tour Guide Companies in NYC? I would like to find a tour company for my mom and I for one day of our trip this month to NYC, but we want to hire our own private guide with their own car from a reputable company. All the tours i've found so far are with a chartered bus, and you miss out on so much that way, and I do NOT want that. Can anyone who lives in NYC, or has been there, recommend something like i'm looking for? Thanks! PS-if they have a website that you know of if you can list that, it would be real helpful. =)
How to get to know my way around NYC? I am planning on living in nyc... i don't want to be getting lost and plan on taking the subway, bus, and taxis for transportation so i plan on just touring nyc with my parents for a few days before they leave me to go back to san antonio. So how long do you think it would take for a person to understand their way around nyc? how much is a cab ride average per mile? I don't want to be getting lost on the subway and have heard its not very safe at all? should i use the subway during the day and a taxi at night? How much do most ppl in nyc spend on taxi transportation a month for going to and from work and wherever else they want or need to go? any help please!!!!!!!! No, I'm going to live in a box. lol of course I have a job and apartment, but my parents are coming with to help me unpack at my new place and see where I'm going to live.
chinatown bus dc tour? I have seen an advertisement for round trip ticket from chinatown NYC to Washington DC that also includes a 2 day tour with stops in Philadelphia and Baltimore and some sightseeing in DC and one night hotel. Does anyone know if this is a scam, it is also advertised as buy 2 get one free, but when I go to purchase the tickets there is no reference about the third ticket. has anyone done this? is it worth it? or should I buy everything separate, and do independent sightseeing in Washington, DC? if you do the tour does it leave free time to wonder around on your own to places not visited by the tour? like the pentagon, washington monument, etc.also where is the hotel located? far from the city so that independented sightseeing is impossible or somewhere nearby? thank you and also any suggestions as to getting form NYC to washington dc and sightseeing ideas (reasonably priced) are greatly welcome!
NYC Sightseeing Buses? Hello all. I am in NYC with my husband and his family, and we wanted to take one of those double decker bus tours. My father in law has a prostate problem, thus has an overactive bladder. Do any of these buses have bathrooms equipped on the bus? If so, do you know the brand of the bus? It would be preferred to find a bathroom equipped bus so we didn't have to keep getting on and off. Thanks!
how to bus back to NYC from woodbury? Me and my friend are going to NY on the long weekend (Feb 13-16) and we will get a free ride to go to Woodbury Outlets on Sunday morning, but we'll have to bus back to NYC afterwards on our own. So i was just checking out all these bus schedules (greyline, coach USA...) and it seems like only round trip tours are provided..no ONE WAY trip seems to be available. :S:S and ALSO, we don't want to stay at woodbury for the whole day (like, we plan to go back to NYC around noon or even before noon since we'll be at Woodbury when it opens :P..) Does anyone know whether there's a good (early departure and economical) way to go back to NYC from Woodbury?? All the bus departure times I saw seem to be pretty late (like, after 5 pm). Thanks guys. I see there're a few options..by either train or bus to go to NYC. BUT they all leave soooo late (after 4pm). That's pretty much my ONLY day in NYC...so I really don't want to waste all my time in that stupid mall. is there any other solutions rather than take a cab? :( I'm from Toronto!

Day trip to Washington DC from NYC? Is it possible to make a day trip to washington DC form NYC? If I leave early from NYC by train? I am not talking about the commercial bus tours but doing it by ourselves. I wish to see White house, Capitol building and a couple of some major attractions, not much museums and stuff. I have an international flight ahead and I have 3 days in NYC. I want to squeeze in DC because I don't know if I get another chance to visit US. Thanks.
What are some things to do in NYC? My dad and I go to Manhattan every year on a Peter PAn bus tour to see the Christmas Show. I just need some places we can go in these time frames: 9 AM - 2 PM 4 PM - 6 PM this is happening on December 11, 2008 A list of many different things would be preferable.
nyc vacation, and easiest way to get from newark? best and easiest way to get from newark (Robert Treat Hotel) using a train, for family with kids (6,3). where to get a transit pass, where to buy tour bus ticket (it seem a lot cheaper to get them on line???? anyone used online service to get them, and which route is the best). and all thing what you guys think we could use to make a short (3 days) vacation more memorable for all family. tnx
What is the easiest and cheapest way to travel to NYC from PA? I live around the zelionople-pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania, and I was wondering what the best way to get to New York City was. A very long time ago (8 years ago) on a school trip I went to NYC and fell in love. I remember we stayed at some hotel in New Jersey, saw some festival, and drove to NYC and back the next two days of the weekend on a tour bus. This time i'm 25, have a car, and want to visit NYC for a week. Should I ride a plane and take the subway/taxi then ride a plane back?; or should I take my car and spend alot of money to park, or something way different.I know it's alot, but I want to be able to save money and still be safe, i'd rather use the money to do things like eating out, shopping, visit a park or two than to waste it on parking or a plane. I appreciate any answer, thank you.
NYC in 10 hours...Can someone please help me? I'll be arriving into New York's La Guardia Airport at aprox 9:05am and have to return to La Guardia to catch a plane that leaves at 8:30pm the same day. I intentionally added that huge gap so I can be able to see the great city. I would like to see NYC's landmarks. The Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn bridge, Empire State Bldg, TImes Square and Central Park. Of course there's gotta be that hotdog cart stop. If anyone could suggest a way for me to do ll these I would greatly appreciate it. Please include BUS Routes and Subway Lines to take and any stop and hop tour buses that might be available. Thanks!!!

PLEASE CRITIQUE MY ITINERARY FOR A WEEKEND IN NYC? My boyfriend (who has never been to NYC) and I are going to the city Saturday and Sunday. I have been several times (born in NY) and am in charge of our agenda. He isn't a planner, so I know I need to make a list and times of things to do before we get there, otherwise we'll wonder around and not really see anything. I'm not sure about times yet, but I have the following planned for us on Saturday and Sunday, and I was hoping some of you would be able to let me know if it's fairly walkable and what trains to take and the like. We're trying to avoid paying for a tour bus if possible. Some good/cheap places to eat in the areas we're in would be good too. Saturday: 12 pm: Arrive in Times Square (our hotel in on West 55th between 8th and 9th ave, so a great location. But we would not go to the hotel until later that night.) Until 3 pm: Walk around Times Square/Have Lunch 4pm: See the Debt Clock (boyfriend's requesst) Empire State Building (not sure if we're going on top) Chrysler Building 6:45pm: Get to the David Roth Theatre for Fuerzzabruta 8ish: Get out of show, take the subway back to Times Square for dinner/night walk around 10ish: Cab back to the hotel Sunday: 9am: Subway to Battery park to take the ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island 12pm: walk to South Street Seaport for lunch 2pm: Walk to Financial District/Wall St (another request from the boyfriend) 3pm: World Trade Center 4pm: Subway back to Central Park, take a walk 5:30: Go to Times Square, catch a quick dinner, and wait for 6:30 bus back home to DC So....am I giving us enough time? How should I spread these out? Thanks!
Mary Poppins Broadway Matinee and Sardi's Dinner with bus at 6:30. Is it possible? I am taking a bus tour package for a "free day" in NYC trip. I have purchased tickets to the 2:00 Mary Poppins show for a Wednesday Matinee. The Disney website says that the show is 2 hours and 45 minutes. I would love to take my mother to Sardi's for dinner, but the but the bus leaves 46th Street and Times Square at 6:30. I don't think it can be done. Is there anywhere else in the theater district where I can make a reservation for a decent sit-down dinner that will work and get me on my bus back home? I cannot make her stand in a line and sweat whether we will make the bus or not, nor do I want to have fast food. Or if I do a Sardi's lunch - how much before show time do I need to make the reservation? I know there are alot of questions buried in here, I hope that you can wade through them and give me your insight.
More Questions about traveling to NYC...? Is it best to reserve a bus tour ahead of time or can I do it when I get to NYC? Also, where is a good place to get discounted tickets to shows? I will be staying at a hotel on 51st, between 2nd and 3rd aves. Thanks!
Quiz: NY City Night Tour or Empire State Building? I'm going to NYC and have limited time, so I'm going to have to choose either the 2.5 hr double decker bus night tour or going to the Empires State Building. Which would you choose and why? Remember I'm going to be a first time visitor (and I'm a book nut so I'm also going to the NY public library lol) Sry--not a drinker so that won't work out too well for me :)
What rock star did I see yesterday? On Aug. 23 I saw a rock star board a tour bus in NYC. He was blond, older (over 40) and I heard someone say Bruce (though it definitely wasn't the boss). Who was it? Who was performing in the NY area at that time?

Things to do in NYC? I am going to NYC in late August. The first say I will be going to the American Idols Live tour in Long Island. The third day I will be going to opening day of the US Tennis Open. The second day, I am going with one other to the city. Last year we took a double decker bus tour, which was awesome, but that means we don't need to do the 'tour' thing this year. So, does anyone have any suggestions of fun things to do? It is a Sunday, by the way.
Parking / Driving into NYC? Hi! My family is planning a day trip into NYC from Allentown PA. We are actually from Austin, TX and going to visit Hershey and Dorney Park. We had an extra day and realized that NYC was so close so decided to check out the town. My husband says that we are fine to drive into NYC and find parking. We are planning on going on a double decker on and off bus tour, since we only have one day and our boys would LOVE to be on a double decker bus!! On our must see list are Grand Central Station, the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. We are planning our trip for Friday June 27 2008 or Sat June 28. Is the Emipire State Building or The Rockerfeller Center better to go to the top at? I have heard that driving and parking in NYC is killer so I wanted to drive in close to NYC and then take a train in. My husband says we will be fine to find parking for the day in NYC. Any advice on this? We have traveled the world, but for some reason NYC scares me! May be too many movies....
What's your favorite NYC memory as a tourist? 4 memories for me(not in order but in the way i remember), being on a party shuttle bus with a tour guide named luke. He was so knowledgeable about much of the city and he was very friendly and down to earth. 2nd was touring the nbc studios, seeing where they filmed saturday night live and the conan o'brien show, that was a very interesting experience and also being on the nbc observation deck seeing a very beautiful breathtaking view of the new york skyline and all the buildings. 4th was visiting the ripley's believe it or not museum, i enjoyed looking at all the bizarre and creepy people and the stories behind them, that was interesting and frightening at the same time. Last memory was seeing the movie evan almighty, i thought it was a really funny movie. Now its your turn. What were some of your favorite memories on your visit to NYC? Also, what annoyed you most about your visit? for me, having little space to walk around and stopping at every street corner to wait for the signal.
Holiday time in New York: is visiting better during the week or the week-end? I'm planning on spending 4 days in NYC in December with my wife (5th year wedding anniversary). Which date would you recommend? a) 20th to 23rd (Saturday to Tuesday) or b) 21st to 24th (Sunday to Wednesday) Take in consideration that we will be mainly using public transportation and we might try one of those hop-on hop-off bus tours. Thanks
best hotel deals for NYC? Okay, I will be in NYC from July 9th-11th. We're a group of three adults and two children ages 11 and 12. Last month I was in NYC with a friend of mine, we got a cheap hotel but ended up staying at a really dirty and nasty place so is there any hotel deals that are reasonable but still in the city (preferably near the statue of liberty) and clean and spacious for all of us? By the way, how do you register for the bus tour? I've seen people riding buses (2-story) and looking through the city but can't seem to find information on that online. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Trip to Nyc....I need help!? A friend and I are planning a trip to NYC December 28th - January 1st. I would like opinions or suggestions about some of the things we are planning. We are looking at staying at the Vanderbilt YMCA....would you recommend this? Also, we are planning on taking a double decker bus tour that covers both upper and lower Manhattan....has anyone ever been on one of these? We want to spend New Year's Eve at the Paramount's party rather than in the craziness of Time Square....is this a good idea? We are looking at hiring a car to pick us up at the airport ( Carmel is the company) rather than attempting to take the shuttle....know anything about this company's reputation? Any suggestions for cheap food and drinks (we're college students) would be greatly appreciated....especially ones near the YMCA. Any additional ideas would be great. This is our first time to NYC and we want to have a great time. Thanks so much!
Top shows/sights to see in NYC? We are only going to be there for four days, I want to have the most jam packed amazing time while I'm there, but also on a budget. We are also photographers who love taking pics while travelling. What are some ideas so we can keep busy day and night? What is the best show to see? and how best to manage the days in such a short time? any good tours? bus tours?
New York City ghost tours? Does anyone know of any good NYC ghost tours? Its surprisingly hard to find one. Were looking for a walking or bus tour. Just basically anything that involves haunted NYC!
NYC filming and movie tours... worth it? My daughter (16) and I are going to NYC for three days this week and I was wondering if the TV/Movie tours in the city are at all worth it? Do they walk around the city or take a bus? Do a lot of people usually take them? Also I wanted to know how to find out where and when tv/movies are being filmed in the city. My daughter is a huge fan of Gossip Girl and would die if we saw them filming!! Please help!
I am planning to visit Egypt for 3 days as I go to Emirates (UAE) need some advice? HI, Next year i am planning to go on a trip to China. I want to visit Egypt and United Arab Emirates. It will be my 1st visit to Egypt it appears that Cario is the main city with tourist attraction. My question is other than the pyramids what else can I check out there? and I am trying to avoid buying a travel package for Egypt because i don't want to get ripped off. What I thinking of doing was land at Cario Airport crab a taxi and get a hotel. Are there any tour bus programs avaiable at the airport or hotel? like NYC or i have to simply pay for taxi fares and go around city of cario. what is my best option? since i am traveling solo.
How Can I convince My Parents To Let Me Go On Tour With Lenny Kravitz? I just won a contest to go on tour with Lenny Kravitz on his upcoming 9 city tour for his Get On The Bus Love Revolution Tour. Only 9 people were picked and they get back stage passes to all the shows, get to meet him obviously, and be photographed with Lenny for TRG magazine...I would be gone for almost 3 weeks (Jan 19th - Feb 1) but I'd get to go to cities like NYC, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota and Las Vegas! This is once in a life time but my parents are still not sure if they'll let me go! I am a freshman at a junior college and I would have to drop a class in order to go on tour...EMT would be the class I'd have to drop since I am going to be a fire fighter...In exchange I'd pick up 2-3 fire science classes because you can't miss any days of EMT! All together I'd only end up missing 2 days of class since they are once a week classes and the tour goes two weeks into this upcoming semester....How can I convince my parents to let me go? HELP ME OUT!!

I'm going on a trip to NYC, can I get some advice? I live in Illinois (not Chicago), and I'm going on a trip to New York City with a lot of kids from my high school's arts department (band students, orchestra students, drama club). We'll be there for 3 and a half days (we're leaving in late afternoon), and I need some advice. Our itinerary states the places we'll be going to: Radio City Music Hall for a backstage tour, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Trump Tower, a Broadway show (we haven't decided on one yet, what should we see?), NBC's Today Show, breakfast at Planet Hollywood, NBC Studio tour, Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, dinner at Mars 2112, a city tour on buses, NY Waterways 90-minute Harbor Cruise, shopping at Times Square, dinner at John's Pizzeria, Rockefeller Center's Top of the Rock, Museum of Natural History, and last minute shopping in Times Square or 5th Avenue. That's a lot of stuff we're doing, so I need your advice. What can we expect from the places we're going to see? Also, I really need advice on where to shop. My group is probably going to be all boys, so we need some good places to shop at. We should have lots of money to spend, but we don't want to go to fancy department stores. Any advice you have for me, I would deeply appreciate.
Washington D.C. Daytrip? Planning a daytrip from NYC to D.C. - my questions are: 1. Can I "do" D.C. in a day - if I only want to do like one museum? 2. Is it possible to get to all the monuments, etc. on foot or by metro? 3. Should I do a tour, or can I make it to the stuff on my own quickly without a car, etc.? Thanks, thanks. P.S. Cheap-wise, would you take the bus or the train? And, are the chinatown buses ok? Do they get you there on time, etc.?
New York this weekend with the marathon happening ??? We are booked for New York this weekend and I have just come to know about the NYC Marathon on 4rth Nov. How does this effect the major tourist places like Times Square area esp Grand Central Station? Will certain routes/roads be closed or made one way ? We are booked for an evening cruise and need to be at the Pier 79 by 4pm. Will taxi's run as usual ? Is it better to spend the day at Madame Tussaud's / Museum of History to avoid the crowds ? And finally if someone has actually taken the hop on/off Uptown/Downtown tour by Citysights NY as included in the Explorer Pass, I would appreciate a feedback on that and the Pass as Im abut to buy it . Should I ? Is it too cold in NY to enjoy a double decker open bus tour ? is it really worth it tin this cold weather to go on a hop on/off tour of city or better to take a cab/subway/metro from place to place as im told sometimes the buses take too long to pick up and are usually too crowded . Lastly is it snowing there ?Tks for all ur replies FYI we are staying on till tuesday...... seems my hotel located on Upper East Side 92nd Street does fall on the route ....so I cant take the cab right up to the hotel , is subway is better option from LGA airport ?
College visit to Boston and New York City.? Hi. I am planning a visit (July 22-July 25) to visit MIT and New York City. I had originally planned to drive to NYC (which is closer to my home in southern West Virginia) tour the city for a day, and stay the night in NYC. Then, I would take the chinatown bus to Boston (south station) and tour MIT and Harvard. However, I would have to have a hotel with parking available preferably under $150. I realize that I might have to sacrifice the best location to get this. After a day in Boston, I would take the bus back to NYC and drive home. Come someone help me sort this itenerary and find hotel(s) either in Boston or NYC?
Best Tours, Sights, Food for budgeted -minded group? I and 9 other female family members aged 54-16 will be visiting NYC between Christmas and New Years. It is our Christmas present to ourselves. Any suggestions on Tours, Sights, Bargain Shopping, and Food? Will it be too cold to ride on the Double Decker buses? What is the possibility of being in a studio audience? Best thing to do New Years Eve? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
New York City Tours? How does the hop on hop off tour work. I mean do you stay in the bus for 48 hours or can the tickets be used throughout the week, or day? Never been to it and would like to know more. Is it worth 60 dollars? Also, is it easy to get around the city through the subway if you are completely clueless on NYC
Would you buy this vacation package? Would you buy a vacation package that includes a hotel for 2 nights (the Omni Hotel), a double decker bus tour for 2 days, and round trip transportation to/from NYC via Greyhound or Trailways, for $425 per person? If you dont like the price, what price would you pay for this package?
Getting from Newark to NYC cheaply? So my friend and I just booked our hotel through priceline and we ended up with the Country Inn and Suites just outside of Newark Airport and are looking for travel into NYC. We are getting to the hotel via car and WILL have access to it but do NOT want to drive in NYC. We do however want to stay out to a decent hour (maybe bar close pending how late in the day we stay), we need it to be somewhat inexpensive, and also wouldnt mind if it takes a bit to get into the city (45-1hr is ok). We are mainly going in to just tour the city and mess around but 2 of the days we do have tickets to a Yankees game. Also, looking for some what detailed instructions on what bus to take, where to go, price, etc as I may end up just printing the answers and bringing them with us to use while there. Thanks everyone!!
