Do Greyhound bus trips last considerably longer compared to driving yourself? I'm from STL, and thinking about making a trip up to Chicago, something I frequently do. I'm getting sick of making the drive myself, so I looked up greyhound bus schedules. I noticed for one trip from here to chicago, its 15 hours long. Is this accurate?

How reliable are bus schedules? I'm planning a trip that will involve 2 buses. I go from DC to NY to New Haven, CT. i'm using the bolt bus, then greyhound. if the bolt bus is late, i may miss my non-refundable greyhound bus. how risky is this? there's like an hour or so between scheduled arrival time and my greyhound leaving. i will be traveling on a Thursday, so i don't think too many others will be traveling. keep in mind these are inter-state bus lines. DC-NY is long. sounds like you guys are talking like inter-city buses.
Greyhound Timing/Bus Schedules? Are greyhound busses, usually ontime to their stops? What happens if they are late and you miss your transfer? My transfer layover is only 55 minutes, is that enough time? Thanks for the speedy answers! Tell me, if you are asleep when you hit your transfer location, any chance you will be awaken? I sure hope the driver announces the stops!
Where can I see the schedule for greyhound bus from port authority NYC to atlantic city new jersey? I went on the website but I didn't get much information. How long is the Ride there? Were can I get the schedule for tommorow? And does every bus have wifi connection? Thanks.
Can I leave on an earlier Greyhound Bus than what's printed on my ticket? I have an advanced purchased Greyhound bus ticket, however I realized there are some earlier buses scheduled to leave the terminal for my destination. In order to make sure I give myself more time to make a connection, can I take an earlier scheduled route as long as it's the same date printed on the ticket?
How early should I arrive if I m taking a greyhound bus during thanksgiving holiday? I am planning to travel from Arizona to California by taking greyhound bus during thanksgiving (9/25/2009) at midnight. I found out that greyhound doesn't guarantee a seat for me even if I already bought the ticket (basically, 1st come 1st serve). So, how early should I arrive at Greyhound station to make sure that I can get a seat on my scheduled bus?
Greyhound bus schedule for Saturday - Hamilton to brantford? I searched the schedule for Monday - Thursday and Friday but i cant seem to find Saturday. if anyone knows the full schedule, please type me it. That would be so very much appreciated! thank you :)

greyhound bus, schedule information please? "after midnight" (sat night 5/1/10- wee hours Sun AM 5/2/10) A greyhound is leaving Orlando and coming to Bradenton. When will it leave Orlando and when will it arrive in Bradenton? A friend is flying into Orlando from outside the country, due in shortly after midnight. friend is then grabbing a Greyhound to Bradenton. Need to know when to pick them up. If I had a schedule, I would read it. Dumb ass. I have not found a website with the info that I seek. I have NO PHONE, or of course, I would have called.
Are there any other bus lines available in the US besides Greyhound? I sure can't find any!!? My friend just finished training for the military, and he gets a short time at home before he is deployed. I want to visit him in that span of time, but he lives in another state (apparently 5 hours away by Greyhound) and I have no car. I was planning on taking a bus down there for the day, but the Greyhound bus schedule has me arriving there at 1:35 pm and departing at 3:00!! Not going to cut it. Are there any other buses I could take that might have a different schedule? Please help me out!!! Thanks guys. I tried all those places, but none of them left from Michigan. And the train had me going from detroit to Chicago THEN to south bend, arriving me at like, 9 at night. Any other suggestions?
where do i find the greyhound bus tickets and schedule? i would like to take a trip with my 2 children
greyhound bus schedule from jackson,ms. to las vegas, nv.? leaving jackson, ms. on friday december 4th
I don't understand this Greyhound bus schedule!? It is this: http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t113/takashifuruya/others/newyork.jpg For going to NY, I know bus leaves Ann Arbor at 9:10pm but what date? For coming back to Ann Arbor, I know bus leaves at 3:30pm but what date? I am stupid when it comes to math and logic. Help appreciated! it says on the right: departing: July 22 returning: July 30 but I am guessing it leaves from Ann Arbor to NY July 22. The problem is returning. Returning July 30 -> does this mean bus leaves NY July 29?
Greyhound Bus missed becuase of Hurricane? Date change possible? I took the Greyhound bus to Rhode island. My Bus was scheduled to go back to NY and then to PA on satuday in the evening, but due to Hurricane irene, all of the bridges are closed and I can't go anywhere. If i go to the greyhound station or call about the situation, would they change the time and date for my ticket? would i be charged?
If the Greyhound bus is scheduled at 12:50am...? This is probably a dumb question. I want to take the 12:50am bus home from school on Friday. When I searched for the schedule on the Greyhound bus, I typed in the date of February 12th. The results came up but I am wondering if I am reading them wrong. The results are listed in order of departure, but the FIRST one listed is the one that leaves at 12:50am. Is this showing that it leaves Friday night at 12:50am or does this mean it is leaving on Thursday night (technically Friday)? Wow, thank you guys so much. I was just really confused because...I'm an idiot? Haha.
I will not be able to get to the Greyhound bus as scheduled on my tickets. Can I take a later bus? My ticket is scheduled to depart at 5:00 PM from New York, NY to Boston, MA. But right now I just learned that I won't make it in time to take the 5:00 PM bus. I know there's a 7:00 PM bus when I was buying the ticket online. I could change the ticket to 7:00 PM but that would require me to pay 15$ fee, including my round trip for subway (4.10$ total). My question is: do you have to pay a fee or get a new ticket if you have to take a later Greyhound bus?
Greyhound Bus: Are the times on the schedule listed in my current time zone? Are the times on the schedule listed in my current time zone? Like, if it says i'll arrive at my destination at 8 pm, is that 8pm my time, or 8pm destination time?
Can I Take An Earlier Greyhound Bus Than What's printed on my ticket? I'm also confused about transferring?? In order to ensure a better chance of making my connection I was wondering if I can leave on an earlier scheduled Greyhound bus than what's printed on my ticket as long as it's the SAME day? Also, if I do happen to miss a transfer and have to take the next bus that makes different transfers not listed on my original ticket, what do I do? Do I need to get my trip re-ticketed or do they just accept the original ticket knowing that I'm still going to the same destination anyway? I would especially like hear feedback from people with experience or a Greyhound employee. Thanks for your help guys!
Can I take an earlier Greyhound bus than what's printed on my ticket, what if I miss a transfer? In order to ensure a better chance of making my connection I was wondering if I can leave on an earlier scheduled Greyhound bus than what's printed on my ticket as long as it's the SAME day? I called Greyhound about this two times and one person told me that I could only if I pay that extra "change of itinerary fee" and other told me that all tickets are good for a year from purchase. Which is true? Also, if I do happen to miss a transfer and have to take the next bus that makes different transfers not listed on my original ticket, what do I do? Do I need to get my trip re-ticketed or do they just accept the original ticket knowing that I'm still going to the same destination anyway? I would especially like hear feedback from people with experience. Thanks for your help guys! Well, I just called them and they said that they don't charge a fee and you can use the ticket up until one year from date of purchase. Perhaps the fee is if your ticket already expired.
How do Greyhound schedules work? I have a schedule 1125. Is that the bus number I should be looking for. Their directions are poor. The departure time is 10:30am, so it's not the time.
What is the break-even point for a greyhound bus to show profit? How many poor bastards have to stand in the aisles before the dispatcher, located way down in Dallas or wherever, will put another bus on that route or schedule? Why has their service to many small towns been dropped for the reason of pure greed?
What do I do during a 'transfer' while riding a Greyhound bus? I'm taking my first trip. It's 13 hours long, and i've never traveled by bus. There are 2 transfers during my trip. I was wondering what do I do during the transer.. Some people say that I have to tell the bus driver when my schedule says to transfer, others said the transfers are simple and everyone gets off and boards the bus again at the same time. please help!
Do Greyhound buses send out more than one bus per scheduled route in the NYC/Newark, NJ area? I'm taking a Greyhound trip from Newark, NJ to Nashville, TN (via Richmond VA). I know that I need to arrive over an hour before departure in order for a better chance for a seat on the bus. However, I'm still concerned since I have to make a connection in Richmond, VA. If I miss that connection, I will have to wait close to 5 hours for the next bus. Therefore, if they anticipate a large amount of people traveling on a particular scheduled route, do they send additional buses for a certain schedule (schedule 1008 specifically) to accomodate most of the passengers?? According to their website under travel info, it seems that they do. However, I was wondering if that's normally the case. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

online greyhound ticket from LA to SF & I chose the print at home option. can i take earlier bus w/no penalty? Greyhound policies seem contradictory: In one section it says: Print at Home tickets are valid only on the schedule purchased. the help section FAQ of "print at home tickets" says: Q. Will this ticket be accepted on any Greyhound bus? A. Yes. The ticket allows you to board any Greyhound schedule for the route that you purchased. And in the refunds and exchanges sections: Can I change or refund a "Print at Home" Ticket? "Print at Home" tickets are acceptable for only the date and schedule selected during the purchase process. While the ticket is schedule specific, it may be used for any schedule on the correct date for the origin and destination purchased. If you purchased a "Print at Home" ticket that is refundable, then any refund or exchange must take place on or before the stated date of travel. Once the date of travel has passed the ticket no longer has any refund or reissue value. As with other refundable tickets, a cancellation penalty will apply. My question is: Will I have to pay the $15 penalty if I take an earlier bus. Another question: Can I get off before my destination, for example in Santa Cruz instead of San Francisco? Thank you
How do you order greyhound bus tickets online? This might seem like a stupid question, but I tried to do it several times and every time I clicked on "get schedule" it said I needed to fill out ALL the required fields. I had filled them all out and the only required fields are the point of origin and the destination. I tried various things for these fields, using the city and state names and the addresses of the bus stops and the zip codes. Nothing worked. Has anyone ever used the website to buy bus tickets and can someone explain how to do it?
Whereabouts in New York does the Greyhound Bus Service terminate? I am planning to go from Toronto but the online schedule only specifies that it goes to 'New York'. I then need to get from wherever that is to Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, so need to know where exactly I will be in order to plan the next step of my journey. Additionally, if anbody familiar with this knows how much a taxi from the bus station to JBT would cost, could you please let me know? Thanks in advance and I realise this is a pretty full question!
Greyhound question. if its raining will there be a delay on the bus schedule? im in KISSIMMEE florida, and i have a bus ticket for northcarolina do you think that it might be delayed becasue there has been off and on heavy rain?
Greyhound (Bus) Questions? I've never taken the Greyhound before, and this is going to be my first time I will have gone on it. I have a couple of questions that I can't seem to find answers to and I'd like to hear from someone who has EXPERIENCE from riding the Greyhound. For the last two weeks my mother has been harassing me about security check points and baggage. We want to know; is this going to be something like at the airport where I have to stand in line, take my shoes off and watch someone go through my bag? Do I need to call and verify that my tickets (I bought them online and they were mailed to me over a month ago) and bus schedule are still the same? And does it matter what station I go to? I've spoken to a woman that's familiar with the Greyhound and although her last trip was over 10 years go, she said security is easy and that they just check your ticket and ID. And that apparently (where we live) there is only ONE station we can go to. I couldn't find any information at the website, short of a number and I can't exactly talk right now since I lost my voice. Answers please?
Greyhound Buses Schedule? HELP Asap please? Ok so my boyfriend wants to come visit me from Philly, i live in Allentown we both live in Pennsylvania but different cities my question is does the greyhound bus works on Saturday?? because he tried to get a schedule for tomorrow which is saturday but the schedule doesn't say anything about Saturday only Mon-Fri but when i call my city bus terminal they said that they was open and greyhound buses are running through tomorrow to them so now i'm really confuse. And can he just go to the greyhound bus station and take a round trip ticket with out having a exact Schedule planned out??
I need the number on the Greyhound bus from New York City to Boston at 11 am? I have a form that I need to fill out to get a refund on part of my ticket price, but I forgot to get the number from the front of the bus that I need for the form. I took the bus on Monday 12/18/06 at 11 am, but I do not know where or how to find the bus number. This is not the same as the gate or schedule number. Any help, thanks so much.
Are there any alternatives to Greyhound bus lines for Michigan? I'm planning on visiting my friend in Pennsylvania sometime this week or next week and the only available bus schedule they have is for Sunday and that involves a 4 and a half hour layover in Pittsburg which makes my mom nervous so I can't do that. Well my friend called and they told her that's the only one they have avaiable from Michigan to PA through October. So that won't work. Does anyone know of an alternative to Greyhound for my trip? I can't do Amtrak that's too expensive so any other bus lines? Or maybe trying another location in Michigan would help? I live in Chesterfield Michigan but the closest stations are in either Port Huron Michigan or Detroit Michigan, probably Detroit. And my friend lives in Cresson PA but the closest station to her is Altoona Pennsylvania.
Does "return date" for Greyhound Bus refer to the date you depart or the date you arrive back? I want to get a round-trip from Columbus, Georgia to Longview Texas, but I need to be back in Columbus January 4. However, Greyhound schedules in this case span parts of two days, so I have to depart Longview Texas January 3. Do I select January 3 or 4 as my return date to be back in Columbus January 4?
Are greyhound buses on time? I am travleling to San Francisco in August via greyhound and the bus schedule says i will arrive in San Francisco at 230pm. I have a flight taking off at 1030pm that same day, so I am just wondering how accurate the greyhound schedule is in tune with reality. I really dont want to miss my flight in case the bus schedule is exaggerating how fast they go from place to place. So anyone with experience riding a greyhound on a longer bus ride (like over 12 hours) I would love to hear from you. Thank you in advance for the advice.
Union Station to Collingwood Bus Route? I need to get to Collingwood from Union Station and I've looked at GO Bus schedules as well as Greyhound schedules and I've either a) haven't gotten a straight answer or b) they dont go to Collingwood. I'm not the best at looking up maps and schedules but if anyone could please help me in finding any routes there possible i would really appreciate it.
What Are your greyhound bus experiences? If you took a Greyhound Bus within the last 3 - 4 months, I'm interested in your feedback. I am planning on taking a 24 hour Greyhound trip in the near future and was just wondering how their service has been recently. If you can, please answer the following questions: Were all your buses on or close to schedule? Was your driver friendly or rude? Were any of your buses so full that you had to wait for the NEXT bus? If so, how long did you have to wait? Did they add extra buses to accomodate passengers if needed? Do they honor your ticket even if you leave on an earlier or later scheduled bus? If you missed your transfer, did you have to get a new ticket? If so, how did that process work? Any other comments? I'm looking for people who actually took Greyhound and can share their honest experiences.

How can I get my revenge at Greyhound bus lines? The last time I travelled, I bought a round trip ticket to visit a friend for the day. The departing bus was 45 minutes late. The return bus was an hour late, and the driver let a bunch of people (who didn't even have tickets) board, and there wasn't a single seat lest for me and 5 other people who also had tickets. The driver said he had no idea when or if another bus would come. An hour later a bus comes, and the driver doesn't let anyone on. Eventually my friend has to drive down to the bus station, pick me up and drive me 90 minutes home himself. Whenever I try to get a refund, I'm told to talk to a manger who usually isn't there- eventually I find someone in charge and he flat out refuses to give me a refund- and if I had a problem with that, he'd have me removed from the station and/or charged with trespassing! In the past 4 years I've probably taken 30 trips with Greyhound, and each bus has been late- and not just a little late. O.K. I'm lying- one bus started to leave early because the driver figured no one else was coming- luckily I chased him down. Once a driver just didn't show up for work and no one bothered to replace him- I couldn't make it to my destination, but still had to pay for my hotel because I couldn't cancel with 24 hours notice. I tried to take the next scheduled bus and booked another hotel in a different town- the bus didn't show up, and I have to cancel another hotel that I still have to pay for! I've been stuck in depots for 12 hours while the staff kept assuring me and everybody else that our bus was coming 'any minute now'. I've been stuck outside a closed station for 10 hours in the middle of Winter waiting for buses that never came- I found a number for their dispatch once and got yelled at because it was supposed to be a private number- and no, no one did squat to help me. They even lost my guitar, and when I filed a claim, they told me musical instruments are no insured- even when the driver said I couldn't carry it with me! Well believe me, this is just the tip of the iceberg. I could fill a book with all the Greyhound horror stories I've suffered- but I think you get the picture. So dear readers, what is a good (and legal) way to get back at this heartless monopoly that has destroyed so many of my budget attempts at vacations? This is mainly Greyhound in Canada, though I have no shortage of horror stories from the U.S.! Most of the time I'm travelling through the interior of B.C.- Kelowna, Revelstoke, Kamloops etc. I could not find any other bus service on these routes. There is a hop on/hop off company but it is too expensive and doesn't go when/where I need to go. Paranoid? Look dude, every thing I wrote happened. I exaggerated nothing- in fact this is just a small sample of my Greyhound nightmares. Passengers without tickets are allowed at stops where there is no depot or it is closed- and there are a lot of those!
How safe are Greyhound Bus stations? Myself and three friends are taking a 1 day 5 hour trip to Florida for Spring Break, we are all 18 and female. We are scheduled for almost a four hour layover and it is from 830pm to midnight in Birmingham, Al. Is this safe and do you recommend this? Any information helps, preferably experience! Thank you!
I need advice, First time taking a greyhound bus!? I'm taking a greyhound bus in a couple days and I've never taken one before, I'm looking for anything from general advice to personal experiences. How much time should I arrive before the bus is scheduled to leave? I'm hoping I will be able to print my tickets at home so I won't have to stand in line, but do I still have to stand in line to get my luggage tags? And how much luggage are you allowed to bring? If I'm just bringing carry on do I still need luggage tags? Thank you so much to anyone that can answer just one these questions!!! :-D
Can I Use My Original Greyhound Bus ticket on a later bus without paying a fee? Next month I'm taking a 12:10 bus out of Newark, NJ to Nashville, TN via Richmond, VA. However, if that bus fails to make the connection in Richmond for the 8:30pm departure, the next bus scheduled from Richmond, VA to Nashville is the 11:45pm bus. Unfortunately, that bus requires another transfer in order to get to Nashville. Therefore, I am assuming that IF I miss the connecting bus in Richmond due to my first bus being late, I'll be able to still use my original ticket on the next bus since my final destination isn't changing even though it requires an additional transfer? Am I assuming correctly? Thank you very much for your help, so my trip can be as smooth as possible.

SEA TAC to Greyhound Station in Downtown Seattle? Hey. I have a flight out of seattle on thursday, and I'm taking the greyhound from ellensburg to seattle to get there. but the greyhound bus will drop me at their bus station in downtown. I looked at bus schedules from the station to sea tac and i found the 191 and 194 but i just wanted to double check. I still have not been able to find a bus that goes from Sea Tac to the downtown greyhound station though for monday june 8th when i arrive/land back in seattle at about 7:00. Does anyone know the busses that go from SEA TAC to the downtown greyhound station? If so can you please tell me, or if you know the times that would be better. :) Thank you. Also... My bus from ellensburg to seattle arrives at the downtown greyhound station in seattle at about 5:35pm, my flight leaves the same day, June 4th (Thursday), at 7:50pm, so i have to be at the airport by lets say 6:30pm. THEN my plane lands at 7:00pm on June 8th(Monday), then i have a greyhound bus that i need to catch at the downtown greyhound station in seattle. This bus leaves the station at 8:50pm so lets say i have to be at the station by 8:00pm. Can someone who knows the area better tell me which busses to take? Thank you so much. :)
bus schedule running from Oxnard to Santa Rosa? I want to know if there is a greyhound bus that leaves Oxnard, CA and goes to Santa Rosa, how long does it take, and how much is the fare?
I need to get from St Louis MO to Keokuk IA by bus. Greyhound doesn't have a direct link. How do I do this? When I search for a bus from St Louis to Keokuk (or Mt Pleasant or any area in that part of Iowa) I get this message... "The schedule you requested is not available online. This situation may be due to a route not served by Greyhound Lines, or a restriction in place that does not allow Greyhound to offer another carrier's schedule information online." Does anyone know what bus company DOES serve the St Louis to Iowa routes? I'm from New York and am flying into St Louis on the 30th and have to be in Iowa on the morning of the 31st. I've tried googling bus systems and transit in St Louis but am only getting info for their regional Metro Link transit and no bus companies that have routes into Iowa. Thanks so much!
Can you take an earlier scheduled Greyhoud Bus than what's printed on your ticket? I know that they charge you a $10 fee if you switch to an earlier departure date than what's printed on your ticket, however does it really matter if you just take an earlier scheduled bus on the same DAY to the same destination? I was thinking about doing this to have a better chance of catching my transfer. Please, no guesses. Please answer if you have had experience doing this or work for Greyhound. Thanks!
Someone else paid for a Greyhound bus ticket for me. How do I check the ticket status and transfer schedule? I am wanting to verify my tickets and know what the bus schedule is ahead of time. I've visited the Greyhound website but can't figure out how to do it.
Greyhound bus, first time, travel questions? Alright, Ill be taking the greyhound bus in about a 2 weeks from the new Milwaukee terminal, to Cleveland Ohio, with a layover in Chicago for 50 minutes at 11am. I scheduled it to go through Chicago in daylight hours (for obvious reasons) I dont want to know about how I should take megabus, or fly, Im going greyhound bottom line. Its my first time ever traveling alone or not by car. I have my tickets in hand from the mail. What I would like to know from those who have actually taken greyhound before is: How long in advance should I get there? Do I really need an hour, or do I need more time? How do I "check" my baggage? Is it mandatory to get off at a stop that has a 30 min layover if its not a transfer? How big can a carry on bag be? I know these are basic questions, but like I said, Ive never flown or travelled commercially before, so the whole process is kinda new and Id like to at least know what to do so theres less hassle later. Thanks in advanced! =D
Questions about taking a Greyhound bus to Macon from Atlanta? Okay, so here's the deal. I live in Decatur/Atlanta. I have an internet friend that lives in Macon, and we've become pretty close over the time and want to schedule a meeting to see if we get along as well in person as on the phone and through internet chatting. I don't have a car right now. Living in the city, I basically take MARTA to work. It helps me save a lot of money, and I don't mind it for the time being. However, obviously MARTA doesn't go anywhere near Macon, GA. She hates the big city and basically freaks out and won't drive here. I looked up Amtrac...they don't go down there (and I know that's more for long distances, anyway). The only thing that goes to Macon is a Greyhound bus. I've done a little research online through Greyhound's website - it's bout 90 miles and an hour and a half trip according to their site. Looks like it's about $50 bucks for a round trip ticket to Macon and back, if I'm reading everything correctly. Theoretically, I'd catch one of their buses around roughly 9a.m. and get to Macon around 10:30 or a little after. She has a car and wants to pick me up from there, and we're gonna go here and there and spend a while together. Again, theoretically about 3-5 hours or so, and I'd probably get my bus by 3pm at the latest. Can she just drive up to the Greyhound station in Macon and pick me up without any issues? Or is there a certain area where I'd have to go for her to pick me up? A couple of other questions...I see the options of "will call" and "ticket by mail." Exactly what is the "will call" option? I'm kind of iffy about getting a ticket mailed to the address that I live at now, because I'm sharing it with a couple of family members for the time being...and they are too freaking nosey. But on the other hand, I don't exactly...want to get down there and eff up and not be able to get back. Can you buy tickets at the bus stations themselves, or does it have to be ordered online or via phone and sent to you by mail or picked up at a certain location? Just in case I somehow missed my return trip bus (duh...hopefully not) and needed to buy a ticket back or something. Possible to do? Nope, she's cool with the bus thing. And no, don't have a driver's license yet.
Could anyone give me any advice on taking a Greyhound Bus? Basically, I need to make a round trip from Atlanta, GA to Macon, GA sometime next month in October. I do not have a car, and I do not currently have my license right now (I have a learner's for ID purposes - too much going on in life right now to get a regular license within a month's time). A family member in Macon wants me to take a bus and is going to pick me up at the Greyhound station in Macon. I'd probably get a bus around 9am-ish and arrive around 10:30am at the most in Macon, GA. I'd need to get my return-trip bus going back to Atlanta at no later than 4 or 5pm. I'd get the bus at Garnett MARTA station when I leave from Atlanta - will it take me back to that same station if it's a round trip? Or drop me off at the airport station on the way back, instead? I'll be scheduling my trip online well ahead of time. I'll be printing a couple of copies of my tickets, just in case. I have my own credit/debit cards and cash, and also my own cell phone. I just don't have a way to drive myself or anyone else to drive me there. A taxi would be insanely expensive, and a Greyhound round trip looks like it would cost $25 if I did the non-refundable tickets ($50 if refundable). Neither of the stations I'd be going to and coming back from have ticketing counters. I'll be printing my own tickets at home from an online purchase. I've just never ridden a Greyhound before and need a little advice. It seems to be first-come, first-serve and there are no seat numbers or seat assignments. They also say on the website that they do not limit the number of seats available on a bus - so if it's full and even if you have a ticket for that bus/time...apparently you're screwed and have to wait for the next bus. I absolutely must be back in the afternoon on that same day, no if's and's or but's about it. Would I have any trouble doing this? Is there anything else I need to know? Also, I did a quick mock-up of a ticket purchase, but didn't put my info in at the end. It says: "You must print ticket(s) at home or work. Please print only one ticket per page, do not print on the back of the paper. Proceed directly to the gate. Board your bus at the following station no later than one hour prior to the scheduled departure time." The bus sits at the station for an entire hour before leaving?? Nope, there's no way I could stay overnight there without it causing problems with the family that I live with. I'm used to long ride lengths on buses and trains like MARTA on my commute to work (an hour and a half commute one-way), I've just never ridden such a distance or at all on Greyhound. I don't mind the bouncing back and forth. It doesn't say there are any mid-way points, though.
Transferring Greyhound buses in Seattle? Considering taking a Greyhound bus from north of Seattle to Eastern Washington. The schedule makes a transfer stop in Seattle. Is it easy to make a transfer here? Does Greyhound transfer the luggage or would I have to do that? Been in some kinda scary looking bus stations before many years ago, what is Seattle's station like? Thanks!
My boyfriend has enough baggage to fill a Greyhound Bus.....? ...4 kids, (ages 14- 9) and a demanding, control freak ex-wife....sooooo every night this month he's gone to one of the boys baseball game until at least 10 pm. And in June he has to work nights because all the kids will live at his house for "visitation". I normally stay at his house during the week and sometimes during the weekends when the kids are there. I have my own house, we don't live together, and we're not engaged. The X has no concept of my BF's personal boundaries and she schedules all these "activities" for the kids and expects my BF to be at all of them - every night... and if he isn't there she makes a huge deal about it. I just stay out of it and don't say anything- but when I told my BF that when he has the kids during the day and works at night I might as well stay at my house because he's not there anyway - he got upset. What's that all about?
GREYHOUND buses - are they delayed too often? I am traveling with Greyhound and have some transfers. I am wondering whats gonna happen if the bus is late and I am gonna miss my another one. In one spot I have 20 minutes and in the other one 30 minutes for transfer. If I miss the transfer bus, the earliest next one is going in like 12 hours! Whats your experience? Do they work really with the schedule?
trying to get to nova scotia from new york by bus (direct if possible)? I'm looking for a bus line that will take me from new york to nova scotia, (halifax, specifically) direct. I hear greyhound sends buses north of the border, but I have not been able to find schedules for these buses on their website. any information regarding direct bus lines to nova scotia would be much appreciated.
Greyhound buses? How are they? thinking about taking a bus down to NYC this weekend using Greyhound. How is it? Are there a lot of delays? Especially going into NYC? Or are the schedules accurate?

When should i buy my bus ticket? Right now it's 5:25. This is my first time buying tickets from Greyhound and i'm planning at buying them at the terminal. I saw on their website schedules that they had a bus leaving to Phoenix, Arizona at 6:30pm. Is it too late to go and buy the ticket because im going to be late or should i just wait for tomorrow morning?
How can I go to Panama City from Jacksonville by bus? I will arrive at Jacksonville airport tomorrow at 4pm. How can I go to bus station from there? Any regularly scheduled direct Reno, Nevada to Las Vegas, Nevada Bus Service? Does anyone know of ANY regularly scheduled direct Reno, Nevada to Las Vegas, Nevada intercity bus service? Amtrak and Greyhound only offer convoluted service via Salt Lake City OR via Sacramento/Los Angeles that takes about 20 hours but nothing direct and it is only about an 8 hour drive. If not anything regularly scheduled, how about any company that offers direct service even once a month/few times a year? Thanks in advance!
Bus lines from Miami to Tallahassee? I know there is Greyhound, but their schedules (or lack of) are crappy. I was looking at TMT transport. Has anyone traveled with them & how long did it take, how was it, etc? -Are there any other bus lines that do from Miami to Tallahassee & back?
Are Chinatown buses dangerous or unsafe? Well, I am planning to visit my folks for a three day weekend my school is finally giving us. I am studying in Baltimore, MD and my folks live in New York City. I was planning to take the Amtrak train, but a round trip ticket price can be more than $120. I was going to take a Greyhound bus, but their time schedule wasn't really working for me and the price was near $80, and although it is better than $120, I am a college student and I don't want to waste too much money. Now I checked online and I found out about a bus that takes my from Baltimore to NYC for $40, however it is a "Chinatown" Bus. I bought the ticket, but now everytime I tell anyone I am taking a chinatown bus, they freak out and tell me its horrible and that it is dangerous, even though they never took the bus before. Its already too late because I bought the tickets, but I want to know if they are truely dangerous and what should I expect. Here is the link of the company I got the ticket: http://www.gotobus.com/newyork
Extend transfer during Greyhound journey? Hi, I'm taking greyhound from Ottawa to New York next weekend. I noticed under the bus schedule, there is a transfer point at Montreal for 2 hours. I would like to visit Montreal too. Does Greyhound allows passengers to visit Montreal a dayor two and come back the next day to continue the bus journey?
navigating Port Authority bus terminal? I'm taking a Greyhound bus from Ohio to NYC and back. I'm not too concerned about getting there, I figure I'll just follow everyone else until I am outside of the building, but I'm terrified about being able to find my gate for departure. I've ridden Greyhound before, but all of my transfers were in smaller cities (Cleveland was the biggest one) and the terminals were few in number. How do I find which gate I'm supposed to leave from? Is one building of the PABT for departures and one for arrivals? I'm not sure which one I should take. Is it safe for a woman traveling alone to be there at 8:30 at night? I'm taking schedule GLI 1685 if that is any help, departing from NYC at 9:15pm and arriving in Columbus at 12:00pm with no transfers. Thank you!
is Greyhound No longer running schedule services? I read the following in on yahoo answers some posted the following" But Greyhound has been bought out and they are going to stop running those busses and only do travel tours. IS THAT TRUE?
Finding schedule updates for Greyhound? Last I heard, my boyfriend's 1pm bus wasn't even that at nearly 2:30om. His phone is off and it's bugging me that I don't know when to pick him up. I tried calling the station he's arriving at and the station he left from, but nobody will answer. Any ideas? I did call customer service, they told me the bus was on time but it was six hours late at the terminal. Nobody can tell me when it'll get in.
I would like the greyhound schedule for charleston,sc to ft.jackson,sc.? we would need a bus leaving for Ft. jackson in the afternoon from charleston on may 29th
How can I travel from Pittsburgh, PA to Buffalo, PA? My mom won't let me drive, airfare is expensive, Greyhound's schedules aren't that great, and Amtrak doesn't work for me. Is there any other bus company or train company that will get me there?
Can someone tell me how the 'Lynx' buses work in Orlando? I'll be taking the Greyhound to Orlando.. and without a car we'll have to take one of their buses to our Walt Disney World resort. My question is, From the Greyhound bus station.. how will I get aboard one of these buses that will take me to Downtown Disney? - Do they have scheduled bus stops every few blocks or so, like they would in your hometown? Or is the only place to get picked up by a Lynx bus is by taking a taxi FROM the Greyhound station TO the Lynx bus station? Also, How much does it cost to take the Lynx bus?
Do you know if there is a Bus from San Diego - Calexico (& viceversa)? I need a bus option different to Greyhound 'cause they have no enough schedules... it can be from San Diego or a city near it (El Cajon, La Mesa, National City) to Calexico or a city near it (El Centro, Imperial, even Mexicali, Mexico). I appreciate any help.
What to do about poor customer service in airlines/buses? I, for one, am getting extremely frustrated and impatient with crowded planes and buses, rude personnel (especially in Greyhound), long delays and fewer routes and less frequent schedules. What would you advocate to make the airline and bus industry, as a whole, more efficient, less crowded and provide better customer service and better routes?
Can someone please help me figure out transit plans? Here's what I want to do: Travel from St. Louis, MO in the evening/night (or, if it has to be, in the afternoon) on Friday, June 29 to Mishawaka, IN (near South Bend, IN, about 90 miles east of Chicago), arriving in Mishawaka by 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Then I need to travel from Mishawaka, leaving no earlier than 4:30 p.m., to get to Kansas City, MO by 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 1. I've looked at schedules on Greyhound and Amtrak, and I've done Google searches for other bus and train lines, but none of them have times that work. (Some have times that work for getting me to South Bend, but then the bus or train doesn't leave until much later after 4:30 p.m. and wouldn't get me to Kansas City in time.) Please, can someone tell me a bus line or train line that has a schedule that works with this or give me tips on how to search for one? Also, I need to know how to get between South Bend and Mishawaka (I don't think major lines go to Mishawaka.) I need an answer a.s.a.p.! Thanks!
Get from Dulles to Charlotteville? At one point in time there was a Greyhound bus from Dulles to Charlottesville. I can't find any schedule for it, or even acknowledgment of its existence on the Greyhound website. Does anyone know if this still exists? If not, any alternative suggestions for getting from Dulles or Richmond Airport to Charlottesville? Any help would be much appreciated.
San Francisco Transbay at night? I'm a foreigner, planning to go to the states by arriving at the SFO int'l airport and then taking a Greyhound bus to Reno (my destination). I'll arrive at SF in the late afternoon and as I checked the schedule, the only bus I can possibly catch is the one that leave by 1.00 am. Are there any places you might reccommend as the safe place to stay while waiting for the bus? Is the area safe for a female who travel alone? I have stayed in the US for a couple months but never been to SF. And what is the best way to get to the transbay (from the airport)?
How can I get to Montreal before 9.00 AM from Ottawa using public transportation on a Sunday? I need to take a train in Montreal at 9.00 AM on Sunday. I already checked Greyhound but their schedules for Sundays do not fit my need since they arrive either really early (5 AM) or after 9.30 AM. Also checked Coach Canada but apparently they do not travel from Ottawa (at least I could not find a station in Ottawa on their web site). Also checked VIA RAIL but their earliest trains get to Montreal after 11 AM on Sunday and 9.30 on Saturday. Any bus carrier you know I can take from Ottawa in addition to Coach and Greyhound? I am not planning on taking an airplane since it is way more expensive and have to add the cabs fares to and from the airports, delays and waiting time. Thank you very much in advance for any answer.
Toronto at night lol? Not to sound like a country boy scared of the big city, but I have never walked through Toronto at night before. My friend and I are going to see Thrice tomorrow at the Kool Haus, and the only way back that works in with our schedule is the Greyhound Bus at 11:30pm. But it's at 610 Bay Street, near Ryerson University. This means walking like 3 kilometres late at night. I just want to know, when traveling around downtown at that time of night on a Friday, are there enough people about that you won't get hassled, or should I be vaguely concerned? I walk around downtown London, ON at 2 am all the time and never really worry, and like cities a lot, but Toronto has gained quite a reputation lately. Any help is greatly appreciated. Ah, the bus is at 10:30, my bad. There is also Via leaving Union at 10
