Are there any buses or shuttles in Las Vegas that will take us from downtown Freemont to the main strip? My friends and I are going to take a vacation in the summer. We'll be taking a Greyhound bus, but it drops us off downtown in Freemont. We need to get to the strip with our luggage. Are there any shuttles or buses that would get us there?
Las Vegas shuttles or taxis - are they reliable? I have read on several travel websites conflicting stories about shuttle buses in Vegas. We're going in May and I would really rather not rent a car again. Has anyone taken a shuttle from the airport to their hotel and back? OR a taxi? Please share your experiences and/or recommendations! Thanks for the answers so far, very helpful. More detail: by "reliability" I mean I've read that the shuttle service has been hired/paid for and never showed up to pick up people for their return trip to the airport! Then they don't get their money refunded without a fight. I also have read about taxis taking people for a "ride" and charging quite a bit, so really I'm just making sure I'm going with the right option. The last few times we went to Vegas we rented a car and that seems to be such a waste of money - especially since I can get down the strip faster WALKING than DRIVING!

Old woman thrown off the shuttle bus. Should she sue? Vacationing in Las Vegas with her daughter, an 82 year old woman was thrown off a shuttle bus when the driver closed the door as she was getting on the bus. She fell on the ground and broke her arm. Police was called and the ambulance rushed her to the hospital. Because of the accident, she missed her flight to San Francisco in her multi city tour. She had to incur additional hotel expenses in Las Vegas and cancellation fees of the airline. And of course, hospitalization costs. The shuttle bus was reserved through Orbitz along with the airlines and hotel. Should she sue? If she does, will the lawsuit be in Vegas? Both are foreigners and just visiting the US for a month. There's the time element here. The shuttle bus company already called the family of the old woman who arranged for the trip. Any advice from anyone who has been in this situation is greatly appreciated. Thanks

How should I get from the Las Vegas Airport to downtown on a Saturday afternoon? I am staying at this Fitz, arriving at McCarran about noon on a Saturday. I'm trying to determine the most comfortable, quick, yet not overly- expensive choice. I have used a limo before to go downtown, but I will be arriving at the airport by myself, so its not nearly as cost-effective. I have looked all around the internet so there is no need to point out links. I would like direct advice on my situation from people's first-hand experiences. So, limo, cab, shuttle, or bus? Oh, and if you suggest a cab, which directions should i give the cabbie to get their quickly? Thanks!!

Cheapest Transportation Las Vegas, NV, Red Rock to The Strip at 2 AM Sat. night? I'm planning on going to a concert at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, NV. It's about 11-12 miles from the strip, from what I understand. There is a free shuttle that runs from the Fashion Show mall and back that runs during the morning, daytime to early evening. I will take this shuttle there, but my concert is for transportation after the concert. After looking at taxi rates, it's roughly $50 each way. With the shuttle, I won't obviously have to pay it to get there, but after the concert is over, how will I get back to my room in the cheapest, and safest manner? I saw there is a bus that runs along Charleston (the 206), but it doesn't stop at the Red Rock overnight. It stops a couple miles down. I'm not walking in the middle of the night in an unknown neighborhood. I'm going to assume that the concert will be over around midnight or 1 AM. I suppose it could be an hour later when I finally get out of there.
Las Vegas: What's the cheapest way to get to the Strip if you're staying in Henderson near Lake Las Vegas? I will be staying at a hotel in Henderson outside of Vegas, but want to find a quick and cheap way to get back and forth to the Strip. Are there any free/cheap casino shuttles? How's the public bus system? etc, etc, etc. Thanks!
Staying in Downtown Las Vegas? I would like to go to Las Vegas for New Years.......most of the hotels are already booked and the rates are high! So my question is if I stayed in a hotel in downtown Las Vegas.......what's the best way to get to the strip? Is there a bus that will take you to the strip.......I've heard about shuttles.
Public transportation in Las Vegas? I've never been to Vegas before and am going to be there for a work conference. I won't be renting a car and will have to use public transportation to get around. I shouldn't need to use it alot since my conference is being held right in my hotel on the Strip. Once I get there I'll be fine and once I'm there I mostly walk around on the Strip. I need to get from McCarran Airport to the East Cannery Hotel. I guess it's on the Strip but they don't have a shuttle service from the airport to their hotel. Should I call a cab once I get to the airport or should I just hail a cab when I'm ready to leave? I've heard there's a bus on the Strip that just runs up and down the strip and it's cheap: like $2.00 one way. Should I just stick to this? Possibly might take a cab and leave the Strip to see other parts of Vegas. Is there a cab company you recommend? Are cabs on the Strip expensive? Someone told me that they have to charge a minimum fee so even a short, couple of mile ride along the Strip is going to cost at least $20.00. I'll try to either walk or take the bus but if I'm out late at night I especially don't want to be walking around. Thanks for your help!

Airport to the Golden Nugget? How much is a cab ride from the Las Vegas Airport to the Golden Nugget Hotel - downtown Las Vegas? I do not want to take a shuttle bus - I want to take a cab.
Best way to get to Red Rock Canyon from the Strip without rented car? My sister and I will be going to Las Vegas in early October. We would like to make a short visit to Red Rock Canyon, but don't really want to commit to the half day tours. I was wondering if anyone knew of any shuttles or buses that go to Red Rock. Thank you!
Facts of the town, Ashland in Oregon? I'm from Japan and studying in Ashland, Oregon from this month. And I'd like to know about the town. Is Ashland a safe town? I'd like to enjoy taking a walk during the night alone. Is it possible to go shopping at night on foot alone? Or should I go shopping during the day? Are there any shopping malls or supermarkets near Southern Oregon University? For example, is there a COSTCO or a Safeway? If possible, could you tell me how to get to the Medford Airport from Southern Oregon University? I have no idea how to get there when I take a trip to, for example, San Francisco or Las Vegas. Are there any transportations such as bus or shuttle service to the airport? Or a taxi? And if you don't mind, could you tell me more about Ashland? (eg. Shakespeare festival?) Any info regarding Ashland is very appreciated. Thank you for your help! :-)
What area is considered "The Strip?"? Now, I have just gotten back from Vegas for the 4th time, so not completely stupid. I went to Dallas last week. I visited my brother and had a class there for business. I have no credit card. I paid for the class, 250.00, then the airfare, 262.00. Then there was a Personal trainers conference the next week.. I could not resist, but I had 3 weeks to get my ticket to vegas. I had to wait 8 days to get the tick, room+airfare. I was on a tight budget. I saw what I truly believed they said was on the strip. I know it was a regular hotel and 5 miles off of what I called the strip, but on Las Vegas Blvd. I read the description of it and said it was on the strip and even people that stayed there. I thought I can take a bus to Bally's. It turns out that the bus route no one knew how to get me to Bally's via bus. On top of that, it did not seem to be on Las vegas blvd, as it seemed we were going on different streets to get to the hotel. I ened up paying lots for cabs and my shuttle service I paid for, did not go to my hotel! So my question is that can the hotel call it the strip is it is on the same street, but miles down the street? How could my hotel get away with this? I stayed at 7000 something, not sure of exact address, Las Vegas Blvd. It was 5 miles from Bally's and there is a mall across the street and a McDonald's. Getting To and From Downtown To The Strip? Our Reunion Group is going to Las Vegas in March 2012. I have never been there before, some of the others have. There will be approximately 35-40 of us going and we'll be staying at the Main Street Station. As much as possible, we all want to stay together to do "reunion" things together, like night clubs, shows, gambling, etc. What is the best way to get to/from Downtown to the Strip. I don't think renting cars would be very cost-effective. What about Shuttles and/or the Bus? Would that be a better way to get around? ANY information would be so greatly appreciated, costs, etc. Thank you Rick, I thought about that too, but the problem is..... no one wants to drive (it's that serious drinking and all, you know the drill); so we need DD.
How deeply involved in voter-registration fraud are Obama's friends at ACORN? On Tuesday, Nevada state officials raided ACORN's Las Vegas office after election authorities accused the group of submitting multiple voter registrations with fake and duplicate names. This group is inextricably linked to Barack Obama. In addition to the Las Vegas raid, fraud allegations against ACORN keep piling up: -- Lake County, Ind., election officials this month rejected a large portion of the 5,000 registration forms ACORN turned in after conducting registration drives in the area all summer. Some vote canvassers had pulled names and addresses from telephone books and forged signatures. According to local reports, "large numbers of voter registration forms bore signatures all in the same apparent handwriting style" and "apparently the organization's canvassers broke rules to meet ACORN-set voter registration quotas to get paid." The fake registrants included dead people and underage kids. -- Last month, Milwaukee, Wis., officials discovered at least seven felons employed as voter registration workers for ACORN and another affiliated group. They also uncovered a raft of problematic voter registration cards. The state GOP accused ACORN of attempting to enroll dead, imprisoned or imaginary people to voter rolls. Fraud has plagued ACORN's Milwaukee chapter since the last election cycle. -- In Florida, in Orange County alone, ACORN workers turned in multiple copycat forms for six separate voters over the summer. According to the Miami Herald, "One individual had 21 duplicate applications." Election officials had flagged ACORN's negligent practices several months ago, but it may be too late: In Orange, Broward and Miami-Dade counties, ACORN has signed up 135,000 new voters, nearly 60 percent of them registered as Democrats that constitute a fifth of all new voters in that region. -- In Ohio, large numbers of homeless people received free van and bus rides to register. Shelby Holliday, a reporter for Palestra.net, filmed ACORN shuttling prospects to the polls. She told me she spoke with one homeless woman who told her ACORN "told her who to vote for if she wanted a 'better life,' and told her not to worry about jury duty (one of the reasons this homeless woman didn't want to register) because the government probably wouldn't be able to track her down. She was registering with a temporary address."
Are there any Cheap Buses, Mexican Buses or Shuttles from Las Vegas to Tonopah? And what are the nicest cheapest hotels to stay in Tonopah? Thank you.
Are there any City Buses, or cheap Mexican Buses or Shuttles from Las Vegas NV to Tonopah NV? I am looking for the most economical way to get there. Thank you.
Best way to get to Red Rock Canyon outside of Las Vegas without a car? I'll be in Las Vegas this weekend and would like to do an early morning run at Red Rock Canyon, 25 minutes from the Strip. Does anyone know what is the most affordable and easiest way to travel there and back? I'd imagine a taxi might be rather expensive. Are there any tours/tour busses or shuttles that may trips out that way? Weekly running clubs that carpool out there? Thanks.
Easiest way to get from LAX to Grauman's Chinese Theatre? My sister and I are coming over to the USA from Australia for a holiday. We will be in LA on Monday 28 December for the day. We are flying into LAX, arriving around 7am on SouthWest Airlines. We fly out at about 8pm that same night to go to Vegas. Since we only have the day there, we want to do a Hollywood / LA tour and try to see as much as possible. We have found one we are keen to do that departs from Grauman's Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd) at 9am. I have looked at www.metro.net but the Trip planner keeps telling me that there are no options available for the trip we want to do. Investigating a bit further, it looks like we can take a Shuttle from LAX to Aviation/LAX station, take the Green Line train to Imperial/Wilmington station, then change to the Blue Line train and travel to 7th St/Metro and then change to the Red Line train and travel to Hollywood/Highland. Not knowing what the train system is like, is it easy to change Lines from Green to Blue and then Blue to Red? Are the stops in the same station (i.e. just have to change platforms) or do we actually have to leave the station and go to another station? Also, what is the best way to buy a ticket? Can we just buy tickets with cash on the Shuttle bus for the whole trip (including return to LAX at the end of the day) or do we have to buy separate tickets when we get to Aviation/LAX station for the train trip? Finally, is there an easier way to get to Grauman's (bearing in mind we HAVE to arrive before 9am or we will miss the tour)? Sorry, perhaps I should have explained better. We are coming from Australia but we will already be in the US before our day trip to LA. We will be in Vegas and thought, since the airfare was so cheap, that we could do a day trip to LA and check it out as well. We are looking at taking an early flight from Vegas to LA. We won't have bags so we should be able to clear the airport quite quickly after our flight lands. Re the "Flyaway" how long does it take to get to Union Station? I was worried that if we took a cab or a bus we would get stuck in traffic and risk not getting to the Theatre on time to meet the tour. I will check out the other tour company that picks up from LAX. Thanks for that suggestion. I would certainly be alot easier.
cheap way to get to laughlin from vegas airport? ? im flying to las vegas airport the 5th and i need to go to laughlin the same day because thats where i wanna stay.. is there any cheap shuttle or tour bus or something i can take? i been lookin everywhere with no luck thankss
