Whereabouts in New York does the Greyhound Bus Service terminate? I am planning to go from Toronto but the online schedule only specifies that it goes to 'New York'. I then need to get from wherever that is to Jones Beach Theatre in Wantagh, so need to know where exactly I will be in order to plan the next step of my journey. Additionally, if anbody familiar with this knows how much a taxi from the bus station to JBT would cost, could you please let me know? Thanks in advance and I realise this is a pretty full question!
New York Airport Service shuttle to LaGuardia? Hey everyone, First time I have ever been on a plane, so bear with me here. On Monday, I plan to do the following: - Take a train into Grand Central Terminal (42nd Street) that arrives at 2:25 PM - Take a New York Airport Service Bus, leaving at 2:50 pm. Expected to get to LaGuardia at 3:30. - Catch 6:05 PM flight out of LaGuardia. Am I leaving myself enough time? Even if the shuttle takes an hour, I still will be there with 2 hours to spare at the airport. I literally can't get there any earlier, at least in terms of the transportation choices I have gone with. So... any opinions from experienced travelers? Or those who have used the NYAS shuttle services?

New York Airport Service from LGA to Penn Station...what's the transfer? Am flying into LaGuardia and will be staying at at hotel near Penn Station. Looks like NY Airport Service is my most affordable option. Saw on their website that there is a transfer at Grand Central -- first, is it a move to a different NYAS bus or shuttle? Does it require finding the boarding point at Grand Central to continue the trip? Would it just be easier/quicker to hop on the subway at Grand Central over to Penn Station?

how will Brampton Transit's new Züm bus rapid transit system play a role on YRT/BT bus services? Hey guys, I was wondering if one of you lads have heard about a new bus rapid transit system for Brampton, also know as Züm (pronounced Zoom, not Zcum). I also heard that the route 77 bus route that is currently operated between York Region Transit and Brampton Transit will come to an end, once Züm is fully deployed. The "torch" for the 77 is going to be in YRT's hands. How will Züm play a role on the current YRT services and Brampton Transit services along the Highway 7 corridor? What about the fare situation if I start my destination and end at my destination that I intend to go within York Region? Are any drop-off and pickup privileges for Züm are allowed - if I start and end my destination in York Region or do I need to still use YRT/VIVA services for the local trips? Answers on a postcard! PS, if you want to read about this new BRT service, click here: http://www.brampton.ca/en/residents/transit/zum/Pages/welcome.aspx

Taxi fare in New York City and New Jersey? Hi. I will be visiting New York in about 2 weeks time and due to budget restraints, I will be staying in East Rutherford Meadowlands, New Jersey. I will be commuting to NYC via the bus services most of the time since there is a direct bus to Port Authority in NYC. I was wondering how much would a NY taxi set me back by? Are the taxi drivers willing to fetch me for example, Broadway back to East Rutherford Meadowlands? Any surcharge except for the toll charges? Can any one help me on this? THANKS!

Is there a cheap way to get to from New York to Baltimore Maryland without taking Greyhound or Peter Pan? I want to go to Baltimore, Maryland for the first weekend in May. However, I don't want to go Greyhound or Peter Pan! Call me cheap but I'm not paying 72 dollars for a bus ride! (I take Bolt Bus to Boston and that is only 35 roundtrip!) I don't drive and I definitely don't have a Car! Is there a Bus or Van service out of New York that is cheaper than Greyhound or Peter Pan that will get me to Baltimore Maryland? Amtrak is more expensive than Greyhound...for that I take Greyhound! And Vamoose's schedule is no good for me!

Where to bring my digital camera for service in or near Ithaca New York? the lens fails to retract on my fuji finepix camera and the words "focus error" remains stubbornly on the screen and will not allow me to take any pictures whatsoever. I need to know if I bring this to a Ritz camera if they can help me or if not I do not have a car and I really don't want to spend the day trekking across town to Ritz just to find out that they can't help me. Some advice on where I should go for the best repairs would be very much appreciated please. Also, FYI I am not seeking to send my camera back to Fuji because my warranty is expired. I live in the Ithaca New York area and would prefer a place I could take a bus to nearby that could potentially help me with my camera's issue. Many thanks for your help,

Megabus from Philly to New York City? Hi. I am going down to philly this weekend and will have to come to work to NYC on monday morning by bus. I'm planning on taking the 6 o'clock one so I have enough time to come to NYC. But, I've just heard that there can be hour long delays on these buses. Is this true? How reliable are the megabus service from Philly to NYC timewise? I cannot afford to be late, so if the bus is not reliable, what other alternative do I have?
How is everyone dealing with the rainy/snowy day in New York City? It sucks! & the buses have nerve to only make LIMITED stops, rather than LOCAL stops, so I had to invest in $6 for car service. I almost slipped several times. I'm glad I didn't because I just got out of the hospital for one reason & don't want to have to go back for another.
How to get around a few cities in New York and New Jersey as cheap as possible? Okay so I need some help trying to figure out exactly how to travel around from one city to another using any type of bus/train/subway service possible, I'd rather not use cab since that is expensive. I'm from around Philly and can get up to New York City by the Megabus. After that I am not exactly sure what to do. First I need to get to Verona, New York. After that 2 days later I need to be in Peekskill, New York. The next day I need to be in Montclair, New Jersey. The next day Staten Island, New York. And then 2 days later Atlantic City, New Jersey. (But I think I can get to Atlantic City fine, the others ones I gotta figure out) After that I am back to Philly and need to figure out how to get to Red Bank, NJ. And 2 days later I need to be in Schenectady, New York. If you know of any good bus routes or trains or subways that cover those areas, like if you are from New York and know the areas well any help would be appreciated because I'm just spinning my wheels trying to figure out a way to make this work. No drivers licensee, being the reason I'm asking about bus/train/subway ;)
Airports in and around New York? I'm planning a trip to New York and I need to know the distance between the airport and the city. This is mainly for finding out the cost of any transport services between the two. I think JFK is closer but tickets are higher (much higher) than to Newark and I wonder if it would be more cost effective to fly to Newark and take a cab/bus/train? Thanks :)
The Bolt Bus? Has anyone ever used the Bolt Bus service to get to New York. It is quite inexpensive but I wondered if it is safe and reliable. My concern is that if it so cheap how are they maintaining their fleet of buses and paying their drivers. Thanks so much for the info. I will certainly try it now.
Anyone know good DC to NY bus services? hi i am visiting a friend in new york and leaving from dc for a day (july 12th). i have tried "www.dc2ny.com" and really like the service but they leave new york too early that for me. I was wondering if anyone knows about "Eastern Travel Bus (ny dc express)" or "Tony Coach" and how they are compared to other buses? those are the only bus services i've found that will leave new york around 7 or 8, which is the time i would like to leave, and not earlier like dc2ny.

How do you get into Manhattan? I am looking into living and working in New York City (preferably Manhattan) and I have heard that it is a lot cheaper to live in some of the other boroughs or New Jersey. I was just wondering how I would get into New York from places such as NJ and Brooklyn (e.g. if there is a subway or bus service) as I cannot drive and wouldn't fancy driving around New York anyway!
Yankee Stadium? What is the closest coach bus station to Yankee Stadium. I am coming from baltimore to see the Orioles play in New York. Which bus services are the closest?
New York Question: How about we take way these ridiculous ****** pensions that city workers get? I'm from New York and so now we are going to get taxed to hell to pay for City pensions for people are most of us hate. They get a GED get a city job through a Union then work a job for 20 years, retire at 40-45 years then get 3/4s or 1/2 pay for YEARS after they retire. Cops - scumbags Train Clerks - useless and every year machines take over more and more of their duties (in many areas they get paid to sit there and do nothing) Bus drivers - Miserable a**holes. DMV workers - Miserable nothings Unemployment Workers - I was unemployed in 2004 years and quit on them . I started using the online service. Ironically the only ones who make a decent effort are the public assistance workers So we have to get taxed to pay for BILLIONS in pensions while these people provide a transportation system that gets worse with every day that passes , not only that but their attitudes get worse and worse. What makes their 20 years of sh*t service deserving of that much money after they retire young but not my service? If I provide lousy services at my job I'd get fired. The democrats are really starting to let me down man, real bad, and I'm a lifelong liberal. Yutsnark - I'm not suggesting paying them less. I just have a problem with the extremely high tax funded pensions. These people retire making 45k a year at 42 years old then get 25k a year for the rest of their lives while going into private industry or flat sitting on their ass until they die 30 years later. They should have the pension reduced if they continue to work after they 'retire' Yutsnark - In my industry our pensions aren't paid with taxes. Weasel McWeasel - Please don't leave bullsh*t responses. Cops now need two years of college education but they are basically bullies or high priced security guards. And as for tokens -- we haven't used them in over 10 years. You ever heard of a metrocard? Also, in this economy a vile of crack does not cost the price of two train rides
Why no private players start buses for Public in USA? New York City's uniquely high rate of public transit use makes it one of the most energy-efficient cities in the United States. Gasoline consumption in the city today is at the rate of the national average in the 1920s. What is the rest of USA doing. Why public transports like buses are not too good in USA? It is an opportunity for private players to start bus services and make money; save fuel. Look at Europe. make money; save fuel.
