I am a single woman--what is the safest, quick, and reliable way to get to LAX for my flight? I will not need to check-in any baggage. Hiring a private limo is not an option for me; nor is renting a car. I have identified two options: (1) Red line metro to Union Station and then take Flyaway bus (trouble is that the bus only departs at 00 and 30 of the hour) or (2) Blue line metro to Green line with transfer at Imperial station (I have read something about rough neighborhoods at this station and the Blue line; don't know if it's still safe at night). Can I sue Metro Bus Company? Please Answer? The first incident occurred two weeks ago as I was standing at the bus stop. The bus came at 1:10 and he nearly passed me up but he eventually stopped. I thought it was a bit odd how he passed the bus stop and made me walk a little further as if he really didn't want to pick me up, but I didn't want to think that way. Yesterday, I was standing at the bus stop (broad daylight as usual) and the same bus driver (Spanish guy I believe) sees me standing there waving my hand like an idiot for his attention (which I shouldn't even have to do because it's his job to stop) he just keeps driving. I was so pissed! The bus was not over capacity or anything, it was in service because people were in it. He looked straight at me and kept driving. It ruined my whole day, I had tears in my eyes as I waited for the next bus. I did call Houston Metro and filed a complaint against bus line 15. But something tells me they're not going to do anything about it. I will never know why that a**hole bus driver didn't stop for me but these are the thoughts that comes to mind: he might be racist, he might be sexist, or he might be both. If that is the case, then I have been discriminated against. But I will never know that and I probably can't prove it. I already did not want to ride public transportation in the first place and now I defiantly do not want stand at a bus stop any more because now I will think about that horrible experience. See how that can be psychologically damaging to a person when she feels that she is being treated unfairly due to the color of her skin or for being female. Anyways, sorry for making this so long but I just want to explain it in full detail. By the way it was extremely hot outside as I waited for the bus, again. The area I live in is not particularly "good" and not everything is close by; so walking is not really an option for me. Friends/family work they're unable to give me a ride, so carpooling is also not an option. I'm currently unemployed so I don't have any money to buy or rent a car, but I am job searching. Can I sue Metro? That way, I don't have to worry about being passed up at the bus stop any more because I'll have my own car.

When the train inside Metro, Rer, bus arrives at the destination, is there any broadcast and is there any station name written on the wall (when it arrives, can I have the chance to see the name before getting off?) Is there any flash lights on when bus, train, metro arrives next stop? The French pronuciation is difficult to understand. I hope there are signs to show what the next station is. If not, please give me the tips. It is no gurantee that i can stand or sit near the driver or can find a passenger who knows or can answer my question at that moment. Please help.

White Plains NY train station/bus help If I were to take the metro-north to White Plains, and then get on a Beeline Bus in order to get to WCC, what bus stop would that be? Is it better to stay in apt in Las Ramblas or Segrada Familia area? I'm going to Barcelona in a few weeks and will be staying at an apt for 3 nights. Segrada Familia is cheaper and is advertised as only 10 mins from Las Ramblas by metro. The EL Raval apt is advertised as only 5 minutes walking distance to Las Ramblas. I heard Las Ramblas is where all the nightlife is. We also plan on taking the tourist bus. Both apts are about ten minutes walking distance from metro stops. WHich would be better to stay at? It's my first time to Barcelona so any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Help w/Houston metro? I'm going to a concert in Houston at this place called Warehouse Live. I'll be getting to the greyhound station in downtown. I don't know if I should get a taxi or take the Metro. I've never had 2 do this in a big city. I usually have a car. I've never taken a metro bus or a taxi. I have an idea of how the metro works but I'm afraid of getting on the wrong bus. Steps to ride metro in houston? Hi. Am going to Houston late September. Will be alone, first time in the States. What are the steps to ride the metro? Hv checked the metro website but i mean what's the real procedure... first of all, u wait in the bus stop. Is there a machine or person near every stop to buy 24hrs ticket? will depart from museum district (main&bissonet). So i buy ticket. where do i validate it? then i hv to transfer to another line, do i validate it again? or u show it to the driver? i would really appreciate long answers or even mail :-) tnx tnx for the answers. Well, i have to admit that it must be diffuclut for u to understand that -1st: i cant rent a car cause i will hv only 2 free days and in any case am european and i need an international driving licence plus i like to walk -2nd i am very used to extreme hot weather and hv absolutely no problem. If i am correct am going to use rail (bus and rail when i go from iah to hotel) to go to galleria so i ll buy a day pass in the ticket machine. On a bus who has right of seating? The buses & metro here all have priority seating. According to the signs it is for women with infants, the disabled, the elderly & the pregnant. Anyone can sit there, but if there are no other seats it is expected to give up the seat for someone that falls into that catagory. My question is who has the main right? I'm 7 months pregnant and look it and yet when an elderly man gets on (one without a cane, heavy packages or limp) I have been yelled at (by standing people) to give up my seat. Some days I don't mind, but the last time this happened I couldn't get up until the bus reached the next stop (balance problems) & almost fell because none of the "able" people moved to let me hold the railing. (I'm too short to hold the handles that hang from the celing.) So other than not taking the bus, what is your opinion? I have been told that since I have a large frame (size 16 & there are very few places to find maternity clothes this big ) & I am not wearing any clothes that advertise the pregnancy (Baby on board, etc) it looks like I am just over weight.

Ok so I was at a grocery store parking lot waiting for my mom to finish buying her groceries,and as i looked down the street I saw one of those Metro Buses stop and drop off some people and this girl caught my eye.She was probably in her late 20's with a kid on her arm,and a baby on a stroller,and i noticed that she was pulling her tight pants up and I got a peek of her thong.Anyways my question is this why would a husband-less mom with 2 recent children walk down the street wearing a thong,a thong is gonna bring nothing more than a few looks and perhaps another baby,thongs are for young girls looking for sex ages 13-29,not MOMS,listen if you moms wanna wear thongs go ahead but not while walking your kids.My question is why do moms disrespect themselves like that? Are they really that horny or do they really want another baby?

Bus stop question? Im going to have to ride the metro to school each day and I have a question. I know what route number I am. The scedules Iv seen show numbers from 1-7 (the stops along the way same route number) and the number closest to me is kinda far. BUT I see the signs with my route number (some extremely close to me). Does the bus stop there too and the numbers on the map only mean areas where there are stops? Im kinda lost...

Is it bad to strike up a conversation with strangers at a bus stop, on rapid transit or in a grocery line? I have started to take the bus to work every day and have an observation about human nature-- people are weird. I can not understand how we can stand next to the same people at the bus stop every day and sit next to them on the bus and then the Metro and not acknowledge each other. Not even a hello. Some of these people have stood next to each other for months and even years and still have not acknowleged each other. We stand next to each other for as long as 20 minutes if the bus is late but not a word is spoken. I have tried to make some small talk but the looks that people give me. Is this a sign of the break down in our society?
