Would you recommend traveling by Greyhound? I am taking my 17 year old daughter and her 2 friends to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. We live in Indiana. I've waited too long for airline tickets and they are now way too expensive! (I am paying for everyone) We could drive, but I really hate driving long distances. Somebody mentioned Greyhound Buslines and the price is in my budget! Now I would just like to know if anyone has traveled a long distance by bus and would they recommend it? After a couple of you suggested I check out Amtrak I took a look. Believe it or not it's almost as expensive as flying!

I am looking to take the bus, train or anything cheap, so far the cheapest I have found is greyhound for a little over $100 for both ways, does anyone know of any discount buslines that would be cheaper or anything like that? I keep hearing about the discount $1 bus ticket lines like megabus, but they never seem to be true, and end up being more than greyhound. Anyone know of anything? Thanks.

Amazing how the supposed "Left wing Media" has it called for a Republican "Romp"? http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101101/ap_on_el_ge/us_watching_the_returns AP who by the way boycotted JON STEWART and STEVEN COLBERT'S "Rally to restor sanity" (along with ABC,NPR,THE NY Times..because they didn't want o appear to have a left leaning bias? ) has basically called it a landslide for the Tea Bagger express ? Even though early voting tells a very different story... Greyhound buslines sold 875k seats to DC for that Saturday alone... http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/11/01/2010-11-01_jon_stewart_rally_to_restore_sanity_crowds_set_new_record_for_dc_transit_with_82.html If for no other reason can I get at least a "pause" from the rightsters on this ? None of these broadcasters blew off "Beckaluza" for fear of being called "right biased" ..so how Left are these news organizations ? and how the hel can anyone know what is going to happen tomorrow? Remember 2008 ? The right wing said it was gonna be a landslide then as well.. and the media kept that race up in the air till the very end.. there was no news stories talking about a Democratic Romp on the Republicans... Left Wing Media??????? Where?
Minneapolis to Winona, MN. How to get there?? Hi. I'm landing at Minneapolis Airport on 5th September at 12PM. I need to get to Winona which is also in Minnesota. I have tried Amtrak but they only have one train a day from Minneapolis to Winona which leaves at 12PM. I also tried Jefferson Buslines and they have one bus which goes there but at 10AM each day. I can't seem to get any information from Greyhound. Do any MN locals know of any other ways to get to Winona from Minneapolis, which would be leaving after approximately 1PM. Thanks.
did anyone else have a bad experience with riding greyhound or any other bus service? so ive ridden the bus twice, from dallas to mcallen and mcallen to dallas. the first ride was not fun mainly because they kept checking for illegal immigrants and it was scary when they made everyone get out of the bus in the cold air on the side of the highway and dogs was sniffing us and men in uniforms and they told me to get my hands out of my pocket and i thought they said to put my hands in my pocket so i did and then they yelled GET UR HANDS OUT OF UR POCKETS and i was scared ( i was only 16 i'm 17 now only been a few months) and plus it was soooo ridiculously cold on the bus idk why they put their AC on 0degrees the driver was not polite and did not smile even when i made a joke he was just like whatever so on the way back it was better cuz i had a blanket and they ddnt check us for illegals. but still when i was boarding the bus the driver was like hurry up and i had 1 big bag and a bulging backpack and a laptop case so im struggling to get on and then he just takes off and i fall back and im liek NO IM FALLING INTO THE STREET but he had already closed the door but still i could've injured myself and also when we were at the Dallas airport my grandma whispered, "they don't look happy to be here ", referring to the workers and then the workers said to us that a lady complained that he wasnt smiling or friendly and he said im not getting paid to smile blah blah blah and me and my grandparents are like haha sure but were thinking that hes supposed to be friendly anyways im saying this because i hope youll consider flying or if the owner of the buslines read this do something!!!!
