Does Greyhound Canada transport boxes or suitcases to another province ? Hello I am relocating to another province and wondered if Greyhound Canada transports boxes or suitcases without me travelling on the coach ? Has anyone done this ? Have looked on their website and it only has a section for xpress courier. Looking to find the cheapest way to transport my things over. Thanks
Crossing boarder into Canada on Greyhound how does the boarder crossing work? Do they run id? Never been to Canada before I have my id and birth certificate and I have my ticket. I understand I need to show return ticket. But do they run your id or just look. I know my friend on Amtrak who came down 2 weeks ago they just looked at her id asked her to show her student id and also asked her where she was staying how long and her return ticket. What goes down what do they ask ect.
How do I track a Greyhound shipment in Canada? I have looked all over thier website and cannot find out how to track shipments. Is it even possible or do they only track when you actually call into thier call center? Remember... I'm in Canada. It was shipped from a place inside Canada and is arriving to me.
Can a 16 year old cross the US/Canada border on a Greyhound bus? I'm 16, and I'm currently living in Canada and later this summer I want to travel down to the U.S. I know I need a passport, and a birth certificate, but do I need to fill out any other forms or have my parents sign anything? Am I even allowed to cross if I'm 16? Uh.. Also, the trip is from Edmonton, Alberta, to Alexandria, Louisiana, or New Orleans, whichever the Greyhound can get to. Thank you ^^
does greyhound go from canada to US? I want to go from Ottawa, to NJ. Would that be possible on a greyhound, or another bus service. Or are there any trains that would do that? The place is in Millville, NJ.
Traveling often on Greyhound Canada? This year I will be traveling often from Burlington to Montreal using Greyhound Canada. Is there any way I could save money? Is there a special pass I can buy... or some deal I can get if I buy multiple tickets at once? Thanks!

Traveling on greyhound to Canada, any tips? I'm a little nervous about it since it will be a 2 day trip, I have a carry on I am taking but I'd like to take something else (it need to be checked though). Is there anyway I can completely make sure any of my checked luggage won't get lost? And what about any crazies I might bump into? How safe are the stops and transfers?
Im going across 4 provinces (Canada) on a greyhound bus.. any tips/advice? +LOTS OF QUESTIONS please help :(? Im so nervous, but, this is the only way i can afford getting home :/ so it's a 2 day and like 10 hour trip, and it's probably going to feel painfully long so im doing my best to prepare myself. I'm fairly young (17) and going all by myself. Is this really unsafe, or do you think i can trust my drivers and the people at the stations to help me? I'll only be doing 1 transfer in Toronto. 1) Do the busses have outlets? / wifi? 2) How crowded are the busses usually? 3) What kinds of meals should i prepare myself with? (good for travel) 4) Are the drivers nice/helpful? 5) Have you ever traveled with Greyhound or Greyhound Canada? If so, how was your trip? thank you so much (: so nervous..
Getting from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to Greyhound bus Station (Montreal, Canada)? I will be arriving to Montreal, Canada at 8pm on June 30th and I need to be in Middlebury, Vermont on July 1st. I have seen that there is a Greyhound line from Montreal to Burlington leaving on the 30th at 11:15. From here I can take another shuttle down to Middlebury. My problem is that I dont know where exactly the Greyhound station is in Montreal nor how to get there. Any advice? Will three hours and fifteen minutes be enough to make the bus? Thank you in advance.

Taking Greyhound to Canada...? I'm taking the greyhound bus into canada, and was wondering what the procedure is...what do they do on the border? Thank you...
Ok, this canada greyhound beheading has totally made me think about a lot of things! 1- deep down, humans are savages that can do math and wear clothes 2- I'm never riding a Greyhound bus ever again 3- I'm never, ever falling asleep on ANY kind of a bus again. ( I still have to ride them, sadly.) 4- Canada should consider instating the death penalty for sick bastards like this (the killer). 5 - The way Greyhound operates needs some revision. Sorry I forgot to add, what do you guys think? Oh, and if you don't know what I speak of, then chew on this (BUT I WARN YOU: it's not for the faint of heart) : http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080801/ap_on_re_ca/canada_bus_stabbing
Wow, does that bus attack in Canada make you afraid to ride Greyhound? http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/08/02/canada.bus.stabbing.ap/index.html What kind of psychos do you find when you ride Greyhound? This poor guy rides the bus and ends up getting slaughtered by his seatmate and EATEN. I always heard there were freaks that rode the bus, but this takes the cake. Even worse, his employer said he was the model employee.
Coach Canada or Greyhound? I will go to Toronto next week and I would like to know which bus I should take: GreyHound or Coach Canada? Thank you so much for your suggestions.
Greyhound in Canada and US ... all the same or completely different? Well I'm planning a trip from vancouver to miami and actually considered taking the greyhound. well now i know, it's a veeeery very long bus trip, but i seriously don't mind being in buses at all... i've done plenty of greyhound trips in canada that were around 20 hours and it was fine. most of the time i had two seats for myself, i didn't meet strange people or i stayed away from them. i mean, i experienced the usual trouble with buses being late and stuff...but nothing bad and i seriously don't think it was as terrible as everybody says... but the thing is, i heard there is a major difference between greyhound in canada and the us? and that the buses in the us are a thousand times worse than in canada?? is that true? any experiences? ... and what about the whole losing luggage thing? i've never heard of that before til i started googling it and now i'm freaking out, cause they seem to lose luggage all the time. okay, so i seriously can't afford the train, cause it would be 400 dollars more and same with flying. and i'm really not picky at all. like i said, i've done plenty of trips with greyhound before, they were all ok... i'm just starting to get really worried about my luggage and the system in the us in general... Please help! ... I need to make a decision asap...
Greyhound or Amtrak for USA/Canada? I am having a hard time deciding whether to go with Amtrak trains or Greyhound buses. From what I read there seems to be pro's and con's for each options. These are the options I am considering: Greyhound Discovery Pass (60 days) = $539 USD Amtrak Rail Pass (30 days (12 segments)) = $579 USD Is it worth paying the extra $30 for the train even though you get less time and travel days? Is it that much more comfortable? That much safer? etc etc? But if I go Amtrak I will have to organize separate transport while in Canada, which will up the cost of the Amtrak option considerably I would assume. Is there an Amtrak alternative in Canada or will it have to be Greyhound in Canada? Also, is Amtrak coverage as comprehensive/extensive as Greyhound? As many routes? As many times? I plan on doing a few very long legs and so will be looking for overnight options where possible. So generally how safe is your carry on luggage while your sleeping? BTW, I'm a 22 year old Australian male travelling solo. East to west across the USA, west to east across Canada. As you can see Im a little lost here... deciphering all the options to find the best one is quite hard, so any help from people with first hand experience is welcomed and encouraged. Thanks @USMC Yes its real... why wouldnt it be? You've missed the point. Its not just the "extra" $40 dollars... If I go Amtrak then I will have to buy extra tickets for travels in Canada (I checked out rail in Canada an its outrageously expensive). Im looking at a min $200+ extra on top of the $40 extra if i got the Amtrak option. Tis not that simple mate.
15 Year Old Traveling From Canada To the USA via Greyhound? If I would be travelling from Toronto to New York, NY for a short while and am 15 years old, what documents would I need? I know that my parents would have to sign a form which states that I could travel myself (does it have to be notarized?), but what other documents would I need?
Traveling by Greyhound into Canada..? A couple questions! I'm going to Kingston, Ontario in just a few days, by greyhound.. Crossing the border, can I get into Canada with my birth certificate and ID? I'm pretty sure it's 2008, when you need a passport to get in every way. And how the heck do I get some Canadian money? Lol! I'm actually going on a surprise visit to see some family.. I need a taxi just to take me a few blocks to their house. How would I.. er.. go about doing that? Yes, yes, very ignorant here. :) Thank you for your help!
Anyone taken a Greyhound Canada bus recently? I would like to travel from Montreal to Edmonton by Greyhound bus in the next weeks, but for a 57 hour bus ride, I think I would need to be able to bring my bag on the bus (toothbrush, food, pillow, spare underwear, etc...) Last December, Greyhound announced it had banned all carry-on baggage from its buses, but this is not mentioned anywhere on the company's website. The baggage policy on the site says we are allowed to bring a bag onboard. Has anyone taken a Greyhound bus in the last months? Do you know if this ban is enforced, or were you able to take a bag with you? Thanks.
How does Greyhound buses work? 10 points (canada, bc)? Are there buses that travel ONE WAY without any transfers? If so how does it work? I am trying to go from UBC Okanagan to UBC Vancouver. I really don't know this, please help me. Also, how long is the trip?...back and forth?
Traveling to Canada via Greyhound? I will be traveling in the near future to montreal on a greyhound bus from Mass. Does anyone know what procedures are done at the border? Do I have to get off bus to be seen by customs? How long does it usually take? What questions do they ask?
Who has details on the Greyhound "incident" in Canada? For those who do not know what I'm talking about, a man was brutally murdered by an apparent "insane" person, and was decapitated in front of a bus load of people. I heard the man cut the poor dudes head off... does anyone know anything else relating to this story?
has anyone, out of Canada, heard of the recent happenings of the Greyhound bus beheading? if so, where did you find out about it? and if you don't mind, where are you from? (just give me a country or whatever...I don't need something really specific) thanks, it would be appreciated...^^ hah yeah, I knew all that too, but I was wondering if people out of Canada had heard of it...lol..read the question...? hmmm...thanks...x] this is helping a lot, seriously...heheh
How does immigration work crossing from Detroit to Canada? I will be travelling from Detroit into Canada on a Greyhound bus, and want to know more about the immigration process. Thanks I'll be travelling into Canada from Detroit on Greyhound for a short visit, and want to know how the border crossing formalities work. I am a UK citizen, with a flight home already booked.
When crossing into Canada from USA by motor coach (i.e. MegaBus, GreyHound) what happens at the Canada border? I am a Canadian planing to take MegasBus (motor coach) from Buffalo back to Toronto. How do Canadian Border Officers ask questions, do inspections, or ask for a verbal declaration of goods if everyone is in the motor coach? Do Canadian Border Officers ask everyone whose on the bus to get off the bus, or do they come on the bus and do a quick check? Also what is the estimate waiting time once at the border with a Border Officer (if the motor coach has to see one)?
Do I need an ID to take the Greyhound in Canada? I won't be crossing into the States. Just East to West coast. You see I lost my wallet and the airlines won't let me fly. Will the man let me bus without identification? I've edited the details... I don't have any ID. It was lost. I am stuck in Halifax without any identification whatsoever with little hope of getting any faxed for about a month. I start school in two days. I won't be crossing into the States. I am a Canadian citizen already in Canada. (So no, I DON'T need a passport) I'm over the age of 18. So, does someone already in Canada who is of age require ID to get on a Greyhound bus?
How do Greyhound Buses work? Traveling U.S. to Canada? I am a United States citizen from Illinois wanting to take a trip to Osoyoos Canada. I am new to Greyhound, so I have a few questions. What will I need to cross the border? I know you don't need a passport until 2009, but what do you need as of now? How does Greyhound work? Does the bus pick you up at your house, or do you have to go to the station? How much luggage can you take with you? Is there anyway to get discounted fairs? And is there anything else I should know? Due to Andys answer, allow me to add this: It is a one way ticket. I am older than 18, but will a State I.D. work implace of a passport? I'd say I'd have maybe 2 - 3 bags. I have a place to live when I get there. Any tips on how much money I should have or what should I say? I am very new to this, as I mentioned.
Does anyone know if they have city buses in Winnipeg, Canada? I'm going to Winnipeg, Canada in a few months and I don't have a license to be renting a vehicle, while I'm there for a few days. Does anyone from around there know if they have like CATA buses or Greyhound buses, or anything of that sort that escorts people around the town? Any information that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Going to Canada on the Bus(Greyhound)? Any experiences? Beside what it says on the site what should I expect? I will prob be crossing about 6am. i/e.. searched, questioned, having my name run through computers etc etc etc....
Can you travel From Canada to US without a passport? Im 16 years old and without a drivers license. I want to go to the US, but dont have a passport. I would be going by bus if possible. I have a health card, Canadian Citizenship and social insurance number and an expired passport that expired last year. Would i be able to go from Canada to the US thru lets say greyhound?
Toronto, ON Canada to Buffalo, NY U.S.A, by greyhound bus? I’m planning on trip from Toronto, ON Canada to Buffalo, NY U.S.A, and day later from Buffaol, NY U.S.A to Toronto, ON Canada I’m non-Canadian/American citizen/ permanent residence. However, I have U.S. Student visa. (My citizenship do not require Canadian visa.) My question is; how do they do security at the border (U.S. and Canada) when I take a greyhound bus? And how long usually take a immigration. Please give me answer ASAP. P.S. Please understand grammar mistake, English is not my native language. Thank you.
Did anyone here about the brutal beheading on a greyhound bus in canada? What do you think should be done? http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/080731/canada/canada_police_crime_4 Do you think security needs to be beefed up? What should be done? staged? yes, they staged for a young man to be gutted, stabbed repeatedly and beheaded all in the name of taking "common people's" rights away. i think people would be more worried about their security rather than their privacy being taken away. should people be alloed to walk onto a plave with a knife and the intent to behead someone with it? i'm not a poor speller, just a horrible typist. There is no capitol punishment in Canada. I think the last time someone was put to death was in the 60's.
What Happens when you take a bus to Canada? I was wondering if anyone has ever taken a bus in to canada like greyhound etc what do they do once you get to the border i was told that they just get on the bus and check your ID and if you have a passport they dont give you any problem ...or do they drag everyone off the bus to inspect them?...i'm thinking about taking a bus from boston to montreal
Travel Via Rail Train or Greyhound Bus cross-canada? Well not exactly ALL the way across... Im travelling from Ottawa to Saint John, NB in a few weeks. The cost of both train and bus is about the same. The train will actually take a few more hours than the bus, including a 2 hour layover in Montreal. (its about 16 hrs for the bus vs 20 hours for the train). So- which should I take. Is the bus sooo much less comfortable that its better to have a longer trip on a train? What about washrooms? Scenery? Stop overs....? Also: they will probably both be over night trips....) thanks! Wow! I thought at least someone would have something good to say about the bus! Interesting....
